Morning Reds! Kenny said yesterday that he has a full squad to pick from. So who do you reckon will start today? For me the back four has to be Enrique, Agger, Carragher and Kelly. I think Carragher vs Rooney will be key today. This will also be a great experience for Kelly. I think we should start Downing on the left, Lucas and Gerrard in the centre and Kuyt on the right. I think we might have to chuck Steven in the deep end even if we shouldn't probably do so. I would start with Kuyt as he connects particularly well with Suarez, who I would start up front with Carroll. I think the key may be Utd's second striker Welbeck or Chicarito they are both mobile and can finish, cutting off any supply will be important.
I would like to see Adam and Lucas in the middle with Gerrard in the hole behind Suarez. With Downing and Kuyt on the flanks. Gerrard can have a free role and track back and help Adam and Lucas if needed.. I agree bring Bellamy on with half hour to go... probably replacing Downing or maybe Gerrard due his lack of match fitness. The back four picks itself in my opinion as I can't see Glen being ready just yet.
I agree. I don't think Johnson should be first choice even when match fit. This might be the game when Adam steps it up.
The reason I would play Adam and put Gerrard in the hole is because I can't see Carroll getting a sniff if Vidic plays, as to be fair Carroll has been dominated by defenders half the size and half the ability of Vidic already this season. To be completely honest I can't even see Gerrard starting so I think the team may have more of a familiar look to it than we expect, which does worry me slightly. Also I would pick Kelly over Glen anyday
Interesting. Trouble is both Adam and Gerrard are offensive. Can they both play at the same time? I reckon Carroll will have a good game today. Vidic has been out for a while too. Man U's defence is defintately their weak spot atm. As good as Jones is/will be, when he bombs forward he does leave the rear exposed (as Berbnanidez likes it), which was shown in the England game where he fluffed a pass to Rooney which ended in a counter and a goal. If we can keep hold of the ball I think we have a good chance. If their midfield runs it then we might be in trouble.
Yeah very true. I think a vital component is whether Vidic plays and if he has enough match fitness to be effective. I wish they played Rio - he's about as useful as I would be. If they play a make-shift defence then your point about Carroll could be spot on. I think Adam and Gerrard can play together as Gerrard is great both defensively and offensively, however Adam can't tackle for ****!

The key is packing the midfield and dominating it, Man United don't have a central midfielder that can tackle so they can be over-powered. Stick Lucas and Gerrard protecting the back-four. The team is as follows. Reina Kelly Carragher Skrtel Enrique. Lucas Gerrard. Adam Downing Kuyt. Suarez. Spudhead starts on the bench for Man U. Maybe Baconface feels he will be taunted by the KOP and he will get sent off. Its also the reason why ''Imogen'' Giggs has been left out.
