Very interesting indeed , two very good points made by him .

    Who picks the team ?

What players did Adkins really want in the summer ?

It was a lighthearted affair and was done in good format ie he tells his footballing life story and then does a q&a . Did not know the most he ever earnt in a week was £3500 .

Who picks the team? Adkins, obviously. It's his job, Cortese wouldn't keep him on otherwise. He's also spoken in interviews about how he has to make hard decisions with selections like dropping Kelvin. There's been absolutely nothing to suggest Cortese or anyone else is overruling team decisions, other than "Cortese is a **** he does **** like this!" style reasoning.

What players did Adkins want? Who knows, but it's not completely down to him. Les Reed and the recruitment department have a huge role in transfers, as, obviously, does Cortese. This is the way transfers work at almost all top clubs - it's silly to assume we're any different in letting the manager/head coach be the beginning, middle and end of every transfer. It isn't a big deal that Adkins may not have got every player he wanted.

I don't understand why these are "very good points".

He came to this conclusion after the first game of the season , why play no cf's and where was Lambert ? I am in two minds of that game but Adkins was naive .

Yes but to actually hear it from the horses mouth , I thought maybe it was an exaggerated statement or even a typo .

He played Rodriguez at centre forward with Lambert as a deep lying second striker. If he was going with that formation with no Ramirez he might have been better playing Lallana at SS, Lambert CF

I'm certain he does - but, however much he knows about football makes no difference on how much he knows about the internal workings of the club today.

Did he ? I thought Lambert was a substitute ? And also though Ramirez was not a Southampton player at that stage ? And when Lambert came on I thought he replaced Rodriquez ? Just a thought Rickie......................................

It was a broken sentence. That didn't help. I was talking about yesterday. In the away game at City Guly played as a centre forward in 451. We just tried to stay in touch before introducing Lambert it seemed. Also high chance he was carrying a knock as he's started every game since.

Actually, we don't really know how much Le Tiss knows about football. I know he was a bloody good player (understatement) and one of the most talented this country produced, but so was Gazza ....

Who picks the team? Adkins, he's the managerl.

What players did Adkins really want? We don't know NA's shortlist, but the players we got all will have been on it. We can only speculate about the ones that got away.

You are often erratic to me with your wording. Seems you were complaining he didn't play centre forward yesterday. As it made no sense to me that Le Tissier would think we played no centre forward at all vs City so that's how I took it. So was Le Tissier just saying Lambert should have started at centre forward against City instead of coming on as a sub? Because from what I gather from 'why play no cf's and where was lambert?' Le Tissier thinks we played without centre forward at all before Lambert came on? Which is of course wrong as Guly played centre forward and was isolated for much of the game.

LeTissier thought that it was Corteses team on the first game of the season and not Adkins , he also hinted that Adkins may or may not of wanted Ramirez and it was Corteses signing and he would of preferred to buy defenders , I hope this is the case as at least it proves Adkins wanted to buy better .
Also a rumour was floating around the Swiss are willing to sell and cash in their chips , this did not come from LeTissier though .

Get that tin foil hat off FFS.

LeTiss doesn't know jack about the current setup, and why would Cortese have wanted to leave Lambert out? That makes no sense whatsoever.
