There was no 'trigger' on the device so they should be released without charge - it was simply a practical joke. No harm done.
Terrible ****ing procedure by the police. Had it been a viable device, then they'd have almost certainly set it off.

Dunno - I think they were meant to explode (at least one of the ones sent to Lennon was) and the bullets were sent by different people. Didn't Girvan claim he knew of some irrefutable evidence that was going to get them off?<findlaymuir>
