I was wondering, at what point did they say "**** it lets keep going"? please log in to view this image
I read about this a few years ago and it's not the initial build that I thought WTF? It's the money spent on it since. Iirc they spoke of a £200m "fix" a few years ago. 2000ish
Well yes the money is crazy but lets say when it was half done I'm sure someone went to the foreman and brought up the fact that it isn't quite straight. So at some point there must have been a "**** it" moment.
If they fixed it no **** would go to see it. There’s **** all else there anyway, it’s just a stop on the way to Florence.
That’s pretty much what happened. It was built in stages and you can see where they tried to straighten it up. The most prominent is the smaller section right at the very top.
I don't think it was on the piss like that when they actually built it. Probably an earthquake or something dislodged the foundations. See them walking off site 500 years ago going "**** it, that'll do. Who's gonna notice?"
No mate I read up, they realised at the point the 2nd floor went on. They tried fixing it and stopped for 100 years at one point but then cracked on. There really was a "**** it" moment.
no, it started leaning long before it was finished https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaning_Tower_of_Pisa
This is an educational thread about how people gave 0 ****s centuries ago so don't blame the youth of today.
100 years? That's a long ****ing tea break. Were they on another job, then thought "****, we better go and finish that tower?"
The only other thing I can find that he built were some gates that were burned down in a fire. I think I've found the first ever insurance scammer.
