Sitting here on a quiet Sunday morning with nothing better to do so I decided to do some statistical comparison on points gained both home and away. So here goes and I am using only the percentage points gained by the automatic promotion teams over the last 4 seasons:

    2016/17 Team Home Away

    Brighton 78% 57%
    Newcastle 70% 67%

    2015/16 Bristol City

    Burnley 74% 61% 2017/18 to date
    Middlesbrough 77% 52%

    2014/15 Home Away
    56% 64%
    Bournemouth 65% 64%
    Watford 67% 67%

    2013/14

    Leicester 80% 68%
    Burnley 74% 61%

    Average 75.5% 62%

Currently City are gaining 56% at home and 64% away from home. If you compare our home points versus our away points it is clear that we not doing the business at Ashton Gate (but you already knew that I suppose) and yet we are meeting, or exceeding, the away points percentage required to get one of those elusive automatic promotion spots.

After yesterday's come from behind win at Hull we are sitting fairly comfortably enough to satisfy most, if not all of the punters and yet if we could get our home form up to the level required I believe it would have given us an extra 5 points in the table. I know it's all speculation and what if scenarios, but nonetheless it appears to prove that home form is critical in your ambitions. As I said just another lazy Sunday morning on the wet coast.

Thread looks nothing like what I wrote so I hope I can edit it back to it's intention.

Tried twice to change it but the edit did not work.

Basically I wanted to say that our home points at 56% just won't cut it unless we win all our away matches.

We’ve been very negative at home and I mean the fans. There was even booing at half time v Preston. Now that could of been towards the red but the players don’t know that.

I fail to see why anyone would want to boo the team at Ashton Gate based on our season so far, and although our home form is not where it needs to be surely the 12th man can make the difference. I watched the Palace game yesterday and their supporters didn't stop screaming their team on throughout the match and we wonder why some call Ashton Gate the library. A stadium full of noise will inspire the players to better things, so why don't we follow that route?
