http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...verpools-Jonjo-Shelvey-buys-hoover-Comet.html ****ing hell, even the snide comments about trophies. Doubtless this **** is being mentored by Samuel and lawton for full Daily Mail Liverpool hatred accreditation.
Donga the story itself is pathetic "Footballer buys hoover in sale". I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, the DM just making themselves look pointless and banal as usual.
Lazy journalism at its best! A non story dreamt up by one sad individual trying to create news to please his equally pathetic editor! Everyone loves a bargain - why the feck is this 'news'!!!
Surely going to Comet for a hoover is a good thing (well, apart from it being Comet of course), shows he is keeping his feet on the ground IMO But yeah, generally, this is a bollox article. It is very much lazy journalism at its best, and I feel harsh towards the word 'journalism' there too
I have to agree with the other comments on here-it's just a bit of cheap, space-filling rubbish. Don't let it get to you.
its a pathetic joke of a piece of supposed journalism from a loser hack. Otherwise it would be.. Liverpool FC a working mans club.. but the players buy gold plated hoovers!?
On the subject of Comet, be careful. Bought a Kodak 2.1 Hero printer last week, £20 off, but the wireless doesn't work. Took it back and was told that the administartors wouldn't let them give money back or replace articles - I had to ring Kodak and get it fixed under warranty! Stood my ground, and even though all the 2.1 printers had gone I swapped it for a 7.1. Got it home - the wireless works but the scanner and copier don't. No more printers to swap it with - got to go through Kodak. Point is, be wary that a 'bargain' isn't always thus. But good luck to Comet staff (all except one, anyway ) . Must be ****e losing your job just before Christmas. Just have to join all the other graduates working for Costa and McDonald's on temporary contracts (with no employment rights). Sure this recession was just manufactured by the rich.
Fairly sure if they are still selling goods /operating they are legally obliged to refund or replace faulty goods. Different matter if they have actually ceased trading. They are under no obligation to accept returns for any other reason however but then no shop is; they do it as part of good customer service. I may be wrong.
I have never bought anything from Comet that I have not had a problem with. Refuse to buy from them and I'm not surprised they are under administration
Why? "Journalism is an intellectual brothel from which there is no escape." Not sure who said that originally (perhaps Tolstoy?), but I think it hits the nail squarely on the head. Investigative journalism is, perhaps, different, but how often do we see that in the rags today?
