The latest comments from Podolski suggests to me we should stay well away from him

Just a little too self centred to be good for us.

He seems to be whining because the team has not been built around him at Cologne.

Good player, but would worry that he'd want to be number one - at Arsenal he would have to accept that he would not be a starter ahead of RVP. If RVP leaves though it might be an option, but even then I would worry about his attitude.

It would be Adebayor all over again.

Slightly different situation ... no promises would be made to him about being number one if he were to sign a contract with Arsenal. Nobody can join a team with Robin Van Persie in it and expect to be number one.

    This.
He was told the team would be built around him and they'd challenge. That hasn't happened. Too many broken promises, so he's unhappy. No surprise there really. A non-story: broken promises lead to unhappy guy.

This really iritates me, who says he has a decision to make in the Summer ?
How about his club who signed him to a contract to 2013 ?
****ing footballer arrogance is relentless - he is clearly a top player and I do subscribe to the view that to be successful you have to have a degree of confidence/arrogance, it's just the failure to appreciate the club he currently plays for in this that annoys me.
Some may say that's good because it might force a move to us, yes that's true, but he could be showing us the same disrespect in a couple of years time.....

  6. Sure but the fact he would come out in the media and talk about it is more of the issue. Especially mid season. Why not just shut up, get on with it, and leave in the summer? Cologne are only 7 points off the top 6.

I can sort of understand his frustration if he's been given promises that Cologne would buy better players , but to be honest, he doesn't really come across as a team player.

If you can understand his frustration that he was given promises..... Well no point in coming to us then I guess!

To me this just reads like the classic, cause a rift at your club and find an excuse to leave to join a bigger club routine. Bearing in mind our interest in him perhaps he is just trying to make it happen.

He's better than most of our current attacking options.
I would love to see him at arsenal.
