Based on the last 6 results this is what would happen, if each team got the same number of points for the next 3 games. The bottom 3 would stay in the bottom 3. Wycombe would get 12 points making a total of 53 points Walsall would get 7 points total 50 points. Bury would get 5 points total 51 points. Orient would get 6 points total 52 points. Scunthorpe would get 8 ponts total 54 points. Preston would get 5 points and total 52 points. The bottom of the table would look something like this: Scunthorpe 54 Wycombe 53 Preston 52 Orient 52 Bury 51 ------------------ Walsall 50 Rochdale 40 Exeter 36 Chesterfield 36 Not much room for error for Walsall and the 6 above, could be a very nervy last day for all those teams. Anyone else with a theory of how it will end up?
Last game of the season we go to Sheffield Wednesday while Walsall go to franchise. Can't see North Bucks lot helping us out!
As I remarked in this post it's very complicated at this stage. The bookies could be taking a big risk with the long odds being offered for relegation. There are 6 teams outside the relegation zone at serious risk given the teams they have to play, and the odds for one or more of these could tumble if they lose and Wycombe and Walsall win.
Rhodes just scored his second to sew up the win against Orient. 2 good results (assuming no last minute miracles for Oldham and Orient)
My grandson played as Wycombe against Carlisle on X Box and the scores went Wycombe 0 Carlisle 1 Wycombe 1 Carlisle 1 Wycombe 1 Carlisle 2 Wycombe 2 Carlisle 2 Wycombe 3 Carlisle 2 Hope that's how it turns out on Saturday.
My heart says Wycombe to stay up, maybe just but hey! that is good enough. My head still thinks the drop is inevitable despite this terrific run you have put together in recent weeks. Too many teams to play that are fighting it out for promotion & play off places.
the results worked out well for us tonight, still means its (as i see it) that its 8 teams trying to avoid one spot. to stay up,i think we have to have a decent cushion (about 3 points) going into the last 3 games as i cant see us getting any more than 3 or 4 against charlton, notts and sheff wed. we need to rely on other people dropping points, but everyone has tough run ins
It's going down to the last game of the season, probably goal difference so we need to start with a good win at Chesterfield!
Unless one of the teams above us loses all their games then, realistically, I think we must win 3 games. If we can draw the other 2 we have a good chance of staying up. I think we will need 52 points and superior goal difference or 53. I'd love someone to convince me we don't need so many points.
i think oldham could be ones to watch... they have had 4 concecuative defeats and face sheff wed next so they could potentially come to play us being just 3 points ahead. they then have 6 pointers with bury and preston, before a trip to carlisle who are fantastic at home
Anyway. Anyone recognise these? Just popped into Facebook and they jumped out at me. please log in to view this image
