I last posted an article before the Birmingham match. I stated my support for the current manager and a belief that the situation would improve. Well it has.

Vs Birmingham : I never really expected a result of any kind at Birmingham and was quite pleased with only -2 to goal difference.

Vs Wigan : A must win game. Won in fairly comfortably.....after a time.

Vs Fulham : We looked excellent, best football i'd seen us play in months, all we needed was a decent finish but in the premier you don't get to make excuses.

At this point i'm fairly worried, we'll get nothing at Bolton then 2 hard games against bottom 3 clubs.

Vs Bolton : We were lucky to win but the team showed up as they had 2nd half against Wigan and at the start of the Fulham game.

So there was the team sitting in REAL relegation trouble, without any fit out and out forwards. The team showed what they're made of and a glimpse what they're capable of.

Now there are 2 games left and i'd like 6 points which would put us 9/10th bearing in mind that the mags must go to Chelsea and Fulham have Arsenal and Liverpool. In reality we should beat Wolves and will probably lose in hilarious style to West Ham who will once again escape relegation to the delight of the BBC. This means 12th at best.

That's good enough for me. That's Stability. Bruce can try again next season to get up the table, for me its Europe or anywhere away 14th upwards. There are no real prizes for top ten. We're a stable premier league club with lots of support, money and facilities. Outside the top 7 only Villa can match that (you can't run a football club like a tee-shirt shop) and success will come in time.

As for next season, the 8 players Bruce wants will probably include Elmo, Nedum, Muntari and 2 new forwards. So in Jan (before Bent exit and Campbell crock) it was only 3/4 plus the loans. Maybe a new backup keeper, proper fullback + cover. Wigan will provide!!

Thanx again for reading. Ha'way the Lads!!

To clarify : Brum game could have been worse, which would have been bad for morale

The team played an excellent passing game against Fulham until they scored. A fit striker and we'd have won.

    !4th is very stable indeed.

I hear you.Outside top 5/6 there is no major gulf in class.I thought City would beat Everton at the weekend and we would still have had an outside chance of finishing 7th.

It's just about prize money now. Here's hoping for a cup win and best of the rest finish next season.Hope you all enjoy the rutting season and keep your kingpins in shape.<cool>
