Some sevconians online are claiming that since The cycling authorities have decided not to reallocate the Tour De France titles to other participants, then it sets a precedent for the football authorities in Scotland not to reallocate the potentially stripped titles from RFC if the dual contracts hearing goes against them, however, what is overlooked is the reason for the cycling authorities to decide not to reallocate the titles to runners up. In all of the races concerned Armstrongs fellow competitors were subsequently found guilty of doping also. If Scottish football authorities were to follow this example, it would imply that there had been cheating by other clubs in all other competitions and that there was some sinister reason for not reallocating titles, trophies etc to clubs and fans who had entered the competitions in good faith. Can only see the outcome of the dual contracts issue if RFC lose as being the reallocation of all titles and trophies. Fans of lesser clubs than Celtic such as QOS, Dundee, Ayr United etc, have a right t claim the in some cases only trophy they have won in their history. They were denied their big day by cheats, if rfc lose the dual contacts case. Ps could some dense sevconians please note that the issue is not about EBTs, but about failure to register players properly, thus making them ineligible, regardless of the legality of EBTs then or now.
EC not having a go at rfc fans, but I think some celtic fans who say they want the titles left blank, forget that other fans and clubs have a say as we'll. we have an illustrious history, but what about the fans and players of small clubs who might be very happy to receive the trophies, albeit belatedly. If it was me, I would quite happily have a quiet wee drink to celebrate what will for all time coming appear in the football history books.
