Why waste time, lets get it started today.

I will give the Scouse lard arse until February or March - 15 to 20 games.

If there's no immediate threat of relegation he will see the season out.

Maybe - as you correctly stated back in the summer - promotion was never on the agenda this season <cheers>

Lets all chug along nicely in League One.

Robinson is the first time Roland has appointed a manager who appears to be fit for purpose, and he could also be Roland's last throw of the dice, so I predict that he'll break Luzon's 37-game record.

Gone with ten games to go, we're floundering around in mid-table and we'll get a new manager to bed them in for the new season.

Don't know what to offer on this one. He took MKD up, and then back down again. He 's young, which I sort of go for, and he has a promotion under his belt. MKD fans are said to be glad to be shot of him, which reminds me of another manager we had recently, but I bet they weren't saying that when they went up. I did find the announcement by the club infuriating. Wittering on about a long and exhaustive proccess in finding the right manager. Who do they think they are kidding. They did that in may, and decided Slade was the best available (and that was less than a year since Karel Fraeye was appointed). They last two games at least suggest there is more to our squad than Slade was prepared to offer, so with the right manager and a bit of backing in january, we could yet make the play offs, and maybe play some football too. I've read a lot of stuff about Robinson being a whiner, and to be honest, Pards pretty much did my quota for managers who blame refs for defeats, but if he can actually get us to play football again, I'd be behind him.
Whatever, it's faint praise, but he must be better than Fraeye and Slade....

    ....must'nt he?

He has something to prove as the last year of his tenure was poor. I imagine with his over inflated ego he probably sees us as a stop gap/stepping stone.

Interesting post on Charlton Life from a fan who bumped into Karl Robinson at the petrol station in Lee yesterday.

He said that KR came across as a genuine guy who feels he is now managing at a club that can reach the Premier League.

    Robinson also said

"you know he is not selling, don't you?" when the fan made clear he was a protester.

    Hey ho.

Time for CARD to meet with SMT now? Protests aren't going to get games abandoned as they should. Throwing stupid toys on the pitch and proclaiming anybody that doesn't join in, isn't a real fan, who will be thanking them just pisses everybody but the card tits off

It seems quite likely now that Roland is not for selling. However it seems that he is for turning. He's hired two consecutive English managers, and Robinson actually looks a decent choice at this early stage. I wonder what conditions he set at the Paris interview? I imagine he'd give short shrift to Thomas Driesen for a start. The CEO's gaffe about every managerial change being proved right may turn out to apply to Slade's sacking. Is there a single fan who would want Slade back? Sir Alex always said that the manager had to be the most important person at the club, and this seems to be Robinson's approach to the job. If he can beat Millwall with the players at his disposal that would be a good start.

I'm still not convinced it's not in his mind. He purchased charlton very quickly, sold liege quickly (though imagine easier to sell a CL club). He's very inconsistent in some aspects, just plain **** when it comes to running football clubs though.

Agree, absolute ****. The possible difference now is that he just might be letting Robinson have more to do with the running of CAFC. Time will tell.

2 games in charge. No wins. No goals scored. Roland's trigger finger getting itchy?

Roland doesn't have a clue. Probably thinks we're still in the championship

Three games one goal, two draws. Start of a brave new world if you believe the weirdos on ITTV.
