I just heard it for the first time and I'm of the opinion that there is no way he would have said these things or insinuated anything if it wasnt true as there would be nothing to gain and no logical reason for it therefore the Allams are telling fibs in there HDM interview. Its really dissapointing what's happened and when I listened to that interview I heard someone talking about hull city with the exact same passion and view as I do and for that to be chucked away because our owners want to be held in a high regard by the fans and for us to have a false perception of how willing they are to spend money is such a shame.

The only light I can see from this is that the Allams have put themselves in a position where they have no choice but to let the next manager buy a player of billy sharps class lol

My background is in broadcasting, and I currently teach it. I hope that when the opportunity arises, Burnsy - who I have a lot of time for - applies the same guile to pressing the Allams thoroughly and without silly 'patsy' questions in order to avoid the club shutting out the local BBC. Nick, despite his great experience as a footballer showed a great deal of naivety with that interview and walked into a fairly easy trap. Burnsy whatever you think of him, is an experienced journalist and knew what he was doing. He knew full well that he could get Nick to talk so candidly with a bit of a push. He did the same with NP, but started to back off. I think what the Allam family have done for the club is brilliant, and long may they be associated with the Tigers, but someone isn't quite telling the truth. He must push them hard too.

Completely agree with the OP. All these alternative theories about NB don't explain why he himself wasn't happy with the funding offered in January.

Interesting how early on Barmby talks about not scoring where he hints at some sort of frustration in his forward- almost like a nod n a wink to something else BUT further in the interview he is talking up the players being good enough and should be doing better .

I cant help but think its Barmby trying to deflect criticism from himself when as the manager he should be the one absorbing it .

what I get out of this interview and other statements is that good business practices do not mean paying your competitor huge sums of money for employees.
We are told that 20-30K was available in Jan for a player until the end of the season, no mention of a transfer fee.
We are also told that there will be no money available during the summer, ie wheeling and dealing is the only form of activity possible.
It seems that the owners do not want to pay transfer fees; which is their choice.
So the term "money was available" can be mis-interpreted.

Also with the Allam's value for money crusade the players we have (apart from the left overs from PL_ are on sensible contracts and there is nothing wrong with that but imagine then someone coming in for a few months on massive wages, wouldn't that upset the dressing room just as Barmby has suggested.

Its gonna cost them alot of money as well. 95% of the players - staff and fans have no trust in the Allams anymore after whats just happened. Do you know that Ehab has told the staff and players that they cannot contact Nick anymore ? As if anyone will adhere to that instruction anyway. Allams are making Hull City a dictatorship now.
As for wanting rid of the one man who has Hull City in his veins simply beggars belief. Ehab Allam OUT OUT OUT.
I for one have no faith or trust in his ability to run a football club if our size. end of.

I will probably regret asking this, but do you care to elaborate on:

    1. Why it will cost the club a lot of money;
    2. Who told you that 95% of the players and staff don't trust the Allams; and
    3. Who told that that EA said nobody can contact NB?

How the Allams could ever be upset with what Nick said to Burnsy is silly. Nick spoke common sense on wanting to bring in the right players this suumer to add to what we already have got. No need to spend big on transfer fees with many Free/Out of contract players available. Plus, Improved contracts for Chester, Evans as examples has to be a given. What will happen now ? Hope that i am wrong but i fear the worst this summer.

This is the one area that I actually have some sympathy for the Allams. To have to pay around £3-4m out in wages for the likes of Ghilas - Olifinjana - McShane - Kilbane - Simpson, when as the Allams said in the HDM "they hardly ever got to smell the grass" must have hurt. That sort of money would help increase the summer transfer budget no end and with so many quality players Free/Out of contract I for one was looking forward to seeing who Nick would bring in. Apart from Josh King who Nick wanted back, I wonder if someone like striker Will Keane from Man Utd was also a loan target ? As Nick said, "We had to be cute in the transfer market this summer" Now though who knows.? Until the manager situation is resolved nothing will happen either in or out. imo.
