Good morning gang, So you might have probably worked out by now that I live a showbiz lifestyle. So yesterday I got invited by a close friend to a show where I also would get to meet the hosts backstage. The show was hosted by none other than Javier Pena and Steve Murphy, the two DEA agents who were responsible for bringing down Pablo Escobar. What they said was quite interesting, Javier Pena said that Pablo got the credit for being the richest man in the world, but in his opinion the Cali cartel were richer. He described Pablo as the wild west and the Cali cartel as professional businessmen. He told a story about one of his informers who got asked to work at Pablo's home for a party he was hosting, he said the parties always lasted 4-5 days. During the party somebody was accused of stealing some silverware and Pablo asked for some gaffer tape, he tied the mans hands behind his back and tied his feet up. He then kicked the man into the pool and for the next few minutes the entertainment was watching him drown. I seen pictures of what Pablo and his gang really done to informers, one picture the guys bottom half was all intact but his upper body had been skinned and gutted. There was just bones that you could see and that was it. They also still believe that there is millions of dollars buried in Medellin. They talked about what their most scariest times were and Javier Pena said his was when the car bombs were going off, he said at the worst it was 10-15 a day and he was planting them outside libraries and everything which were killing mothers and their children. He reckons Pablo Killed 10-15 thousand people in total. Steve Murphy said his was every time he came to land in a helicopter it always ended up with at least one bullet hole in, he said it was the scariest time of his life. He also told me backstage that the part in Narcos where his cat was found hanged in the apartment was pure Hollywood. It didn't happen. The cat was just old and died of a heart attack.
