from Everton for a cool £500k, to replace Sean Davis.

The 32 year-old midfielder, born in Merthyr Tydfil, had signed for Everton in 1999 from Benfica. A left-sided player, he was a good crosser of the ball and a high work-rate. The first couple of seasons went okay but after a bad injury at the start of 2005/6 he played only another couple of game before being shunted out by Lawrie Sanchez. Pembridge stayed on at the Club however, coaching Academy U16s.

Fast forward to 2016 and today finds Mark back with the Academy. Promoted to first team coach during Kit's tenure and the hiatus after, his time in that post was cut short with the arrival of Slavi and his associates.
