With Royal Ascot now over I've been thinking about competitions for between major meetings Taking account of comments so far, the general requirements seem to be: (a) Not too many (b) Not too time consuming (c) Not too complicated So this is what I have come up with. A choice of 2 competitions to suit your personal situations. Obviously anyone is free to enter either or both, simply by posting their selections on the appropriate thread. 1. A Naps Competition. The idea was that I picked up the naps from the Daily Racing Threads so as not to involve everyone having to specifically enter a competition. However, having tried this out over previous Daily Racing Threads I feel this might be a bit too time consuming for me every day and I might miss some amongst all the other tips and comments. So I'm proposing that we have one thread just for naps. The Naps Thread and The latest Daily Racing Thread will always be near the top of the board for easy reference. I will keep a record of every nap. At the end of every month I will publish the Naps Table for that month and one for year to date. Naps may be win or ew with winnings calculated at SP and based on a total 1 point staked. Only 1 nap per day. There is no need to post a nap everyday, only when you feel a selection is worthy of a (nap) rating. The information recorded for each Tipster will be: Race Date Race Meeting Race Time Selection win/ew Result SP Profit/Loss From this I will be able to report progress in any way required and also highlight spectacular naps, winning sequences etc. I will gradually go through previous days to pick up earlier naps but I can't guarantee to locate them all so feel free to point me to any of your earlier selections that have (nap) against them. 2. The Saturday Competition. For those who just prefer a leisurely Saturday competition there will also be a Saurday League where each Saturday you will have £100 to stake on up to 3 horses on the televised races. Again win and ew bets allowed with winnings calcualted at SP. Occasionally we may have a novelty competiton and I've already received one idea. I hope this meets with your approval but as I have said many times, it's your forum and the competitions are for your amusement so feel free to make your views known. Thanks Ron
