I see a lot of games in the PL won by set plays from corners and wide positions.

Manure have won many games this season due to set plays. If they can't break a team down with football, they will pull off a good routine and win the game.

We need to improve, because set plays can get you a good 7-9 pts a season.

Is it worth finding a set piece coach? We're getting better at set plays. Saylor is knocking them down nicely, but we're still too predictable IMO.

To be fair, we've won games via direct freekicks, so you could say we've scored directly instead of having to pull off a set piece, but still, we need to improve them, as they can win important matches.

    The worst part is

we stuck to that stupid setpiece where we hoof-ed the ball to Mike Williamson/whoever not in the corner which never bloody worked. And our corners , doesn't matter whoever's taking it , can never cross the first man.

The only bright spot is the deadball shots that are within range.

Agreed. The exception, not the norm though. Of course I hope that changes

It's all the delivery on this one and I'm afraid even a slight improvement from Marv is not good enough.
Cabaye is the enigma because he can seemingly put the ball wherever he wants if there's a net in front of him.

Frankly the ball's into the box from corners often don't even beat the first man, they are shockingly POOR.
They are simply not up to professional standard and it happens far too consistently for it to be overlooked.

It has become SO bad that in fact corners are becoming a liability and in fact advantageous to the defending team, particularly if they can break quickly.
Whenever we win a corner I'm actually nervous as to what we'll do with it.

If I was an opposition manager I would seriously look at how to set up and hit on the break and sting us on it.

Let's be honest, at times the delivery and decision making is so poor from us that the defending side may not bother to bring everyone up and defend.
Put your attackers on the halfway line and wait for us to fluff it.

How come we seem unable to score from a corner by accident? An OG even??

What I'd like to know is whether the players bother to spot it and WORK to improve it themselves.
Stay behind at training and improve it yourself if the coaching isn't there. Gotta be more worthwhile than sitting in the bookies or playing golf, surely?
