Need to put them under pressure early like Southampton did and grab an early advantage. Their heads dropped very easily after Southampton scored an early goal; they were even making basic errors as early as 30 seconds in. We've now got players who can hurt them, just need to get tighter defensively.
It's always good to get an early goal, and particularly with NUFC at the moment, as you say once the fans start getting on Pardew's back, that gets transmitted to the players.
If we see even a slight improvement on last night, an early goal could be the start of a bloodbath for us. Can't ever remember feeling this excited about our squad.
Fans getting on Pardews back, that's a given, bud. Have look at sackpardew.com. Most Newcastle fans want too see Hull win so Pardew is forced to walk. (and I ain't joking either!) For those of you going to St James for the game, be prepared to see a level of hatred you ain't seen before, at the stooges who own and run NUFC - and feel free to join in with the anti Pardew stuff.
Talking to a dyed in the wool Mag today, season ticket holder since the early 80s, who I've been talking football with, on and off, for 30 years. He said that it's a pity Ben Arfa can't play on Saturday, and that he both hopes and expects us to win. I suggested that he was joking because I honestly cannot envisage a situation when I would want City to lose. But he wasn't. I'm struggling to understand this: a home crowd of football supporters who want their team to lose. It's bizarre. But apparently true.
I'm honestly backing Abel for a hat-trick, or three goals between him and Jela, they will rip Toon apart. Also, could we see the entire ground joining in on the "Steve Bruce!" chant? Toon joined in the "You're getting sacked in the morning" chant from the Soton supporters last week.
The Newcastle Cronicle don't mind stirring things up a bit, they've run this picture in tonight's paper... please log in to view this image
Seems like it's all being laid on a plate for us. Too good to be true. So, expect the fight back, from Pardew, to start on Saturday.
Play Meyler in whichever position keeps him closest to Pardew each half, and make sure he takes any throws from that area.
We cheered for our nhl team to lose one year. We had the best set of players in the nhl but had the worst record, the coach didn't give a **** and the team didn't give a ****. There were 18 games left and we needed to win 16 of them to get into the playoffs. A call went out on the forums and radio to boo the team, wear bags on our heads a do chants for our coach to be fired. On thanksgiving day just about all 25 thousand of us with paper bags over our heads with holes cut in so we could see booed our team every time we touched the puck, we cheered every time the other team got the puck and cheered their goals, we also did constant chants to fire our coach. We lost the game by a lot and the owner went down and fired our coach before he could even get into the locker room. We brought in our minor league coach and then with 17 games left we won 15 straight games and 16 out of our last 17 games and made the playoffs by one point. There are rare times when you do need to cheer for your club to lose so that your club can get back to were it needs to be.
With Diame, Ince and hernandez, newcastles defence could be all over the place! id defo start ince and diame infront of huddlestone, and behind hernandez and jela, could be very dangerous! I My team would be 442 and ive left davies out because he looks tired! And livermore out because, he's not abthreat in going forward enough for this game! McGregor Elmohamady Chester Dawson Robertson Huddlestone Ince Aluko Diame Jelavic Hernandez
Alreet lads and lasses (toon fan here). The level of hatred for pardew has now reached new heights in my book. A lot of fans (including myself) would quite happily take defeat on Saturday if it meant Pardew walked or got the boot. This isn't about the fact that we're 4 games into a new season....this stretches back way before this season started. Since we sold Cabaye back in January our record in the premier league is as follows:- P - 20 W - 4 L - 13 D - 3 F - 14 A - 40 So from 20 games we have amassed 15 points from a possible 60. From the 13 games we have lost we have conceded at least 3 goals in 8 of those games and not scored ourselves. That my tiger coloured friends is relegation form. Had we not had such a good start at the beginning of last season we would have almost surely been relegated. I will support my club until the day I die, but things need to change and sooner rather than later. Christmas may well be too late which I think is why we are seeing the level of anger and hatred directed towards Pardew and to a lesser extent our owner. They are both as bad as each other. Ashley is here for at least another 2 seasons (until Rangers are back in the Champions League presumably)...we cannot put up with Pardew for another 2 seasons that's for sure. Quite what the alternatives may be or have to offer is a worrying thing, but the general feeling is that Pardew has now lost the dressing room. Good luck for the game on Saturday. I'm sure you'll have 50,000 geordies joining in on the Hatem Ben Arfa chants with you...please reciprocate and join in with the "You're getting sacked in the morning chants"
Newcastle look and sound like they are imploding. The team and supporters have no confidence in Pardew and want him out...desperately. This is probably the best opportunity we'll ever have to get a big win. So I hope Bruce will attack them hard from the KO...with Hernandez and Jelavic up front and Ince sitting in behind them and Diame pushing up from MF. I'd like to see McGregor Chessie Dawson Davies Elmo Meyler Diame Robertson Ince Jelavic Hernandez Harper Rosenior McShane Livermore Huddlestone Ramirez Bryant Hard to leave Thudd out of the starting line up but maybe he needs a rest and come on as sub.
NUFC have won 5 drawn 3 and lost 16 of the last 24 league games and have been twatted 3-0 or 4-0 EIGHT times since February. Good job they never played in the summer innit.
are we too good now to count out the age old adage of typical city? half the world is expecting us to win including 50,000 geordies and alan pardew.. so 3-1 Newcastle anyone?
We lost to them 4-1 while they were in this slump, and that was at home. Granted we had an eye on the FA Cup, but I wouldn't rule out a 'typical City' performance. Maybe that's why AA wants to change the name?
