The next few weeks offer up a potential nightmare scenario for Arsenal supporters:

    Liverpool at home
Ok, so Liverpool didn't blow Sunderland off the pitch but they are clearly revitalized and have the players to do some damage.

    Udinese away
Would this be the killer blow? The ultimate punishment for fading so badly at the end of last season. The important part of the 1st leg result was the nil, so if you can get the away goal it looks ok, but this is a tricky fixture.

    Man Utd away
Tough at the best of times, but now?

Song and Gervinho banned in the league and Wenger under investigation by UEFA

Is it inconceivable that Arsenal could lose these three games, end up bottom of the table with 1pt, and be out of the Champions League by the end of August?

Couple that with the expected departure of Nasri, following Cesc, and the legend that is Eboue, and the likelyhood that Wenger might not sign anybody at all (apart from a tricky teenage winger from Accra who might come good in a couple of years).

At what point does dissatisfaction with Arsene's methods turn into vocal calls for his head from the Emirates crowd?

Swansea at home could be distinctly uncomfortable for Mr Wenger.

Yup i'm an Arsenal fan and could see it happening.

    - No Fabregas, No Nasri.
    - Gervinho and Song Banned.
    - Wilshere, RVP, Arshavin, Djourou, Gibbs potentially injured.

....and no signings on the horizon.

  3. If Arsene does not sign anyone to replace Fabregas or Nasri then his head deserves to roll. I'm tired of all this seeming willingness to spend big but only if the quality could be found. Well it is out there and he has had more than enough time. So if no one new of comparable quality turns up in an Arsenal shirt within or after the next fortnight, then I'm sorry Arsene, enough then will truly be enough.

luckily for Fergie that when the Chavs won the title back to back and the UTD faithfull were calling for his head he stuck it out because he then won the title 3 time on the bounce, because i mean imagine if you got your way you wouldnt have won all the titles, imagine if Wenger was at UTD you lot would want him out after 6 months.

If we beat Liverpool and Udinese I don't mind losing at Old Trafford. And we can definitely win those first two games. I love all the people predicting these nightmare scenarios for us, maybe by the end of the season we'll be relegated! And be down in League 1 by 2015!

I don't remember anyone calling for SAF's head.
I think we recognised that Chelsea were a good team with excellent management that raised the bar and that we needed to improve to match it.
A similar situation to Arsene's early days - he raised the standard and we had to catch up.

Arsenal v Utd was one of the most fiercely competitive fixtures in the calendar - some of those Coca-Cola Cup games would be censored nowadays.

What happens if wenger spends 200 mil and still doesn't win the league and then the club goes bankrupt and everyone gets killed!

  9. Then he would have bought the wrong players. If only he had listened to us here on not606 or indeed, read NewsNow <laugh>

Club won't go bankrupt if the spend 200m, there's too much real estate there and as for that ultra gloomy and terminal prospect, I doubt if the roof would cave in. OK? ;)
