First chance I've had to watch this form of cricket this week, just feels so wrong. Think it's gonna be the detriment of test cricket
Saw a bit of last night's game. Not really sure why it was needed on top of T20 games. It has attracted a few world names though who I don't recall playing in the 20/20.
It's not different enough to T20 to warrant a 'new' format imo. Test matches ->50 overs ->T20 are all fine.
yet another franchise, the sole purpose will be to make more money for certain people...watching it and trying to 'give it a fair go' but the graphics alone are putting me off, T20 did a good job and i see no reason to add anything new (apart from the money of course)
Its one of the reasons Durham were shafted a few seasons ago in my opinion. They needed 8 team franchises but they had 9 test playing grounds ergo they needed rid of one of them. Not only were Durham demoted but the ECB also gave them a 48 point deduction for the next season to make sure they could not return the following season as players who had come through the academy and learnt their trade were off to division one counties. As someone who has contributed financially (allbeit very small contributions)to the academy at Durham why should I continue to contribute when as soon as a player matures he is off to play in front of crowds at Leeds , London etc. And as clocky says crap
I’ll be going to the oval on the 8th august to see the rockets v the invincibles... And very much looking forward to it
I can't remember the finer details but I'm sure that was all above aboard. It might have been something to do with mismanagement of their finances. They might not have had the success that they did if they didn't overspend to get there.
