This exact thing has been bothering me at night for at least a month now. I can't find the source and it's really hard to fall asleep at night when I can hear it (it vibrates too). I googled it and found it's a real thing - when I thought it was just me! Anyone else know about this or affected by it? Coffee I suffered from it when I lived in Ayrshire. I found moving the bed a couple of feet away from the wall helped.
Used to drive me mad. My girlfriend couldn't hear it which made it worse. Thought it was only me until someone else wrote into the local newspaper to say they were suffering from it. Never did find out what it was but some people blamed the nuclear subs going up and down the west coast.
