I thought this was going to be a thread about their cricket teams. I'm disappointed.

    Yes
I watched Hullensians on Estuary a few weeks ago
Felt a bit of a lazy bastard though...I could have walked down in 20 mins and watched it live!
    They lost

I went to watch Flyde late 70’s playing against Hull & East Riding at the Circle
Got the autograph of one of their players...Bill Beaumont
He was playing for England at the time, but still turned out for them

What’s the difference between the private schools you mention and public schools?

Better than the run 5 times and kick game. Or as the Aussies refer to it after watching the performance as they wriggle about after each tackle trying to get up, the ground shagging version.

But the people that attend fee paying schools, ones that are presumably private as not everyone could go, were always called public school boys in my youth
    Never understood it

A fat thick **** moves in a straight line to another fat thick ****, then lies on the floor wriggling. Repeat x 4. Kick.

Public Schools in the UK are a special category of Private Schools.
Public Schools, include Eton, Harrow and Rugby, (where of course the game of rugby was devised).

Hymers College in Hull is a private school but not a public school.
