Morning all. Another lovely morning with not a cloud or vapour trail in sight. The hedgerows and trees are in full blossom, and you can almost eat the scent. I stayed in yesterday as I could feel that the eyes were starting to itch, which suggested that the hay fever I had about this time last year was going to start again. Great shame that I did stay in as it is ideal gardening weather, but last year I had to visit the doctor to get some relief from it, so better to knock it on the head before it starts. Friday is a normal weekend shopping day, but having stocktaked the freezer we reckon we can keep going for another week or two. So joy of joys no visit to the supermarket this week.
Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

We are planning to do more gardening today, planting veg seeds, flower beds and pots...
Waiting too on some bird seed which is somewhere on a lorry...
We watched the Windermere Children last night which i heartily recommend a dramatisation of a few hundred concentration camp children who came to a centre set up in The Lakes at then end of the war. Truly truly moving, and reveals the psychological damage, they all were traumatised by.. The start of art therapy etc too with children.. The film ends with a small group of survivors returning to the spot.. Heart melting....

    Anyone clap last night?
We sort of forgot but probably would not have, I sort of feel these things are a bit silly, although the thought is good.

We clapped and played JERUSALEM to the village beforehand, went down well.

Very rousing, I don't think O Dour of Scotland would have the same effect but Jerusalem may have caused some social disorder.

Morning all. A lovely morning again, and I intend to get back to the gardening today. The eye irritation has passed, so I think the hay fever is better until I go and get mixed up with the blossom once more. Not surprised in the slightest to find that our lockdown has been extended for another two weeks. My wife remembers going down to Sussex when she was young to stay with an Uncle and Aunt. He was retired and only had a tiny pension, but a house provided by his ex-employer that had a large attached garden. He kept rabbits and chickens, grew vast amounts of fruit and vegetables, and bartered some of the eggs or other products for things like butter and cheese. He would disappear into the garden early morning, and not be seen again until he returned for a spot of lunch and a nap. Then back to his work outside, often until it was dark. A very hard but simple life, but one that he enjoyed, and he was a very contented man. We went to have a look a number of years ago to see if it was still as my wife remembered it, but all of the house and garden had gone for houses packed in tightly.
Have a good day, and stay contended with what you can do. <ok>
