Good morning all from a cold and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day, I start my intensive radiotherapy today and every weekday until 27th December. Not sure how I will react to that so if I don't post for a while, please bear with me
Morning all. As in Yorkshire it is very grey and uninviting outside. Back across the Cotswolds today for some more visiting. The amount of flooding on the roads yesterday was unbelievable. My son in law who works for a council says that there is no money available for the clearing of drains now, where as in the past they had a budget for such operations. Hope all goes well Dave and it doesn't leave you too tired.
Best of luck, Dave. Mrs Fez has her pre-op on Monday then goes back on the Thursday fortnight for a radioactive isotope injection (to show up the lymph nodes) in readiness for the op on the following day. Fortunately all on the NHS though we were prepared to stump up the readies, cashing in one of her pensions to do so, but it wasn't necessary as the theatre was available as were the team. That's a five figure sum we haven't had to find.... yet. Others may not be so lucky and that is totally unacceptable in my book... more on that elsewhere, not here.
Forget political differences Fez, we are all rooting for Mrs Fez, Dave and any others who are not well. We are Watford supporters foremost, the rest is just hopefully harmless banter.
Morning all. Bright but frosty start to the day here. Last night I was in Gloucester in the pouring rain, when I hit a kerb and completely wrecked a tyre. Rather unhappy when I was told it frequently happens there as the kerb is stuck out and not easy to see in the dark and rain. Hopefully I should get a match as the they are new and not a cheap unknown brand. Pleased to read your news Fez. Hope all goes well. Also hope that Dave has a good result. Enjoy your day one and all.
Go to find a new tyre, and first question is do I have an appointment. It is a tyre I want, not a tooth filling. We might be able to fit you in next week sometime. Next two questions is what is your car registration number and your postcode. They are both French so your computer will not accept them I suggest. Nevertheless man tries and computer comes to a standstill. Next man puts a plastic cover on seat, adjusts seat for his longer legs, and puts his arms out to grab the steering wheel. Big mistake, he is in the passenger seat. Four tyre places later I finally get the new tyre I want, complete with a cup of coffee, a discount for a black Friday, or was it for me showing them that the spare really would go back into the space it came out of? I will be pleased to deal with Michel again even if he doesn't speak English.
Morning all. A very heavy frost here last night, and everywhere is twinkling as the sun shines on it. Sat and watched the Rocket Man film last night. It still hasn't reached rural France. No popcorn, but we did get through a large box of Maltesers and a couple of bottles of wine. Today no one has told me that something has been planned, so might even get to watch some football. I am not banking on it. Enjoy the experience of gathering three points!
We watched the TV interview with EJ.. And were moved, he certainly hasdone a lot of work on himself and faced his demons.. And now doing so much good in a complete understated way.. Have a good day folks I hope all goes well...
