Morning all. Quite a nice temperature outside at present, but likely to warm up considerably by lunchtime. I will be happy to eat outside on the terrace of the restaurant beneath the shading. Our group has a major drive on for the next couple of months to stock up supplies for the food bank. Quite a few who are in need are the result of domestic disputes, not people in badly paid work. As with most places I suspect it takes the state time to get their act together. Still after a good meal I should be back in time for kick off. The only problem is that feeling full often sends me to sleep. Have a good day one and all. <ok>

Looking to be thirty plus again here today.
Central France is so dry.. Everywhere we went in the Auvergne they were feeding the cattle with winter feed and there were tanks of water in most fields with cattle. The countryside is parched..

The high unemployment levels with low pay in rural areas must be leading to a lot of wife bashing.

Sadly no country requires food banks as much as France, 3.5 million people rely daily on these.

One can almost hear the tennis commentary:

Good morning, Sir Dave; good morning, all.
Wow. The Canaries managed something remarkable yesterday. It’s the ‘fight in the dog’ as they say. Brilliant. <applause>

Now then. How much fight is there in this West Hertfordshire doggy?

Sorry. I’ve done it again. Can’t resist the bait. ;)

    Smacked wrist. I’ll be quiet.

  12. Good morning from sunny North West London. Spent the morning prepping for an interview (they don't get any easier as we get older do they?). Off shopping now for gear for my annual night walk next week and thoughts will then turn to our big day at the Vic.
Have a nice day one and all :)

This is less than half as in France. 3.5 million people use foodbanks in France.

No, it is much worse in France. 3.5,000,000 PEOPLE rely on foodbanks. Do your homework.

  18. It's coming to something when the debate is which country has more people living in poverty - it's not a bloody game.
Beautiful sunny day today and lots of us will soon be headed to the Vic to welcome back a thoroughly decent chap who did us proud for a . A much nmomentous seasonicer way to spend the day :)

We should be so thankful to live in the UK when you read about that level of poverty in other European countries.
