Morning all. A lovely warm morning and plenty to do. Daughter's car is in the garage having the aircon fixed. With the temperatures forecast to rise into the middle 30's again by Sunday it will be needed. So I have been asked to take her into town to collect it by midday. As I will be going that way the weekly shop can be done at the same time. Then Mme has given instructions as to how she wants the greenhouse watering system extended. I would like to listen to the cricket which I can do from the computer, but not from the car. Then I will need to water this evening if I want to keep the veggies growing. Not much time for a nap this afternoon. Enjoy your day.
Morning all. Temperature on the rise again with 33°C expected this afternoon. The local campsite is starting to empty of the caravans and tents now. The same ones come back each year around the end of June, set up in the shade in the familiar spots, and then out come the long tables for the community meals. Camping is not quite the same as it was in my day. I never had a satellite dish for TV set up beside a tent. Enjoy your day, and let us hope for some success this afternoon.
Morning all. Another hot and dry day instore for us. Showers maybe on Tuesday, but I am not holding my breath. The restrictions on car use have been put back in place for today in Paris due to the heat and lack of wind. I have seen a piece of film where one of the busy streets there is monitored along the length of it and you can see that pollution rises quickly around every set of traffic lights. Where the traffic flows more freely there is less of a problem. Traffic speeds are lowered to prevent so much bunching up at traffic lights. Despite the grumbles most Parisians seem to realise that the restrictions are for their own welfare and accept the efforts being made. Have a good day whatever you plan.
Morning all.. We had around 36 here yesterday.. Today a family velo rail trip.. If anyone has done that before you may know the exertion involved... Just hope we do not get too frazzled...
Morning all. Yesterday afternoon was hot, and today the temperature is expected to rise a few more degrees. Because it was too hot to do anything useful yesterday I sat still and listened to TMS. The BBC provide an overseas service for it and the heat and Stokes came together at the right time for me. I have seen many comments stating that it is a shame that Ashes cricket really should be on free to air, but isn't, as a day like yesterday would have inspired a whole new generation of youngsters to get out and play the game. A special word for Tim Paine who refused to blame others for the loss. He was far more dignified than others who do not accept defeat as part of the game.
