Agreed.... and sadly the modern economy has reduced the value of so many land based jobs etc...

Can we please not let this thread be turned to another one upmanship thread......

I took feedback from someone a few days back and will not respond to inflammatory posts.....

Agreed. I also had read the article you mentioned and could relate to much I see in this part of the country.

By international standards worked out on the same factors in each country France remained at an average 9.1% for the third quarter 2018. I expect unemployment in French rural areas to be considerably higher than the average.

Superhorns that's true but France isn't that much above the average (for the EU). And in my experience the French are pretty stroppy and selfish. I've sat in a number of there road blocks over the years <doh>

However, down here in Spain it is far worse. But the figures only tell part of the story. In Spain there is almost an acceptance that unemployment will be high. In other places people do not understand how the US and the UK are doing so well and think they should be able to achieve the same.

And I think those attitudes change how people see their own situations.

Anyway enough of this - it is match day.. C'mon u'orns

    And you Canaries<ok>

Well done Dave. Great comeback and our man is on fire again.

If they get 6 points from the next 2 games then a gap should start to open up. Easy said not easy done but we will see.

    Enjoy <cheers>

Morning all. Rather grey and damp here so will have to concentrate on some of the things that need to be done indoors. We are having to think ahead now, as instead of just the two of us to feed, for a week around Christmas there will be eight. We did buy some fresh cranberries recently that have been turned into a sauce, so that is one thing taken care of. Christmas dinner can start here on the evening of the 24th, and go on through to breakfast time. I prefer some sleep.

Morning all. Damp but very mild here. Big news here is about homes that have fitted solar powered electric shutters, and they have developed a fault setting fire to the houses. My next door neighbour has some on the back of his house, so I really trust that his are OK.

The far right has made significant gains in Germany, France, Italy, Austria and now Spain. Merkel has a lot to answer for.
