Morning all. Still rather chilly with the wind coming from the north, but it is bright and dry. Quite a lot to do at present including bringing in some more logs for the wood burner. I have plenty of timber, it just takes time to log it. The effort is worthwhile when on a cold night you can feel the heat and watch the flames through the glass panel.
Morning all, quite a few degrees warmer today, but the baker still had his door closed. As you entered the shop the smell and warmth from the ovens was lovely. Man on the Saturday shellfish stall looked pretty cold though.
Beautiful day up here - blues skies and sunshine. Then my wife and I stepped outside for a morning walk....
Morning all, it looks like a decent day ahead. Monthly dinner and football talk day. Only Forest and Middlesbrough in attendance today, and the latter will not start their match until we will be well into our main course. Let's hope that we get back to winning ways.
Well chaps just got down from high up in the Himalayas and saw a head line. Basically Moyes complaining. Had to be good news and when at last I saw the results it made my sweet tea seem like a pint of English bitter. C'mon u 'orns
Morning all. Grey and rather damp from a little overnight rain here. Splendid meal yesterday of goats cheese and honey salad, followed by veal with a rich wild mushroom sauce, the cheese board, and fresh orange and caramel dessert. Didn't try the new season wine as it always seems a bit of an over priced gimmick at €15 a bottle. Home in time for the game. A rather good day all round.
Where were you Kc? I have lived, worked and travelled all over the region. Not terribly high though....
Yorkie we went first to Dalhousie then Dharamshala then Palampur. But then went trekking (going upstairs as our guides would say) from Rakkh. Rough largely scree climb but somehow we made it. Up top our guides cooked us chicken curry, chapaties and rice. And while we ate a golden eagle came and upset the 3 vultures who had been tracking us. I think the vultures saw our trekking abilities and thought there could be easy pickings before long. And the way my legs feel now they weren't far wrong They are waiting for the snows now, next week likely, but I just wanted to see the big permanent snow capped guys with an uninterupted view. It was just magical. And a 2-0 win on top! Who could ask for more. Now in Chandigarh and just had a great craft IPA. This country has much to offer me thinks
Wow amazing and so many Tiberan refugees etc..... an area i have not visited. I did a Ladakh trek years ago.... and have worked /travelled in Nepal, Sikkim, Darjeeling and Bhutan..... way past trekking now.... but just love that part of the world.... driving on a mountain road and a leopard darts across, families of bear, eagles, black necked cranes, great food, incense, chang and rice spirits!
