This is the thread to commemorate all the times when Helmut Marko felt that other people thought he didn't talk enough. He's come out again: http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/8033905/-Seb-Must-Be-Quicker-In-Qualy-, and while he's not wrong on this occasion, I think it's inevitable he will be in the future and that he already has been many, many, many times, and that we need a thread for this.
"One of the Red Bull drivers can become World Champion. Even (*afterthought: that other bloke) Webber." – The Helmut. I suppose he expects Mark to take such a statement as a compliment? *My parenthesis.
The statement is just the result of low quality translation work. I guess the british websites and press likes twisted translations.
"Yeah Jaime, you'll definitely be driving for Toro Rosso next season." <- not exact quote, but from grid of the Brazilian GP last year.
Great thread “Mark for whatever reason was slower, Mark knew that he was slower, so he should have let him (Vettel) past. It’s unbelievable how unlucky Vettel is. "
Were they all mistranslations? Every single thing on the long list of stupid/arrogant/ailarious things he has said? You can't seriously defend the man.
Actually I've been on a few sites that have the same article where "Even Webber" is slightly rephrased as opposed to this one from PF1, which is probably an attempt to get their dumbass commenters angry.
Very true. Here is a better translation for example: http://www.crash.net/f1/news/183379/1/marko_vettel_needs_to_qualify_better.html --- Marko also insisted that Vettel wasn't the only Red Bull man who would be given the chance to fight for the title, with Mark Webber also still in contention – and indeed two points head of Vettel in the standings ahead of the Belgian GP. "With us, both drivers may be world champion,” he said. “So Webber can go for the title too.” ---
