is our midfield, i've noticed in many games this season our midfield doesn't work & for me is the reason we are struggling this season! ...I believe our defence and strike force are brilliant (they need to be) but there is something about our midfield (even when we win) I just don't like I am mainly talking about our central midfielders of Huddlestone,Meyler and Livermore....Huddlestone's main assest is to play long balls in to people, however Charlie Adam came on yesterday and totally showed Huddlestone how it should be done! ...Meyler does try but the fella has no quality and can never pick out a decent pass in fact he passed the ball of the pitch a number of times yesterday and Livermore probably our best midfielder this season but when he picks the ball up he fails to do anything creative. I also believe these 3 players are too similar. If we do stay up this season, our midfield needs sorting out for next season. Huddlestone will most likely leave at the end of the season and my guess would be Derby, based on this seasons performance I would drive him there and pick up Charlie Adam on the way back!
You can't have a go at the midfield when we've lost a game! We've just had a good little run of results! The reason we got beat yesterday wasn't down to the midfield.
We do need a new CM in the Summer to take Meyler's place. I know Diame will take his place in the XI, but I mean on the bench.
I think one of the reason's fan's tend to get piss off with SB at time's is puzzling team selections at time(to be fair it would appear he had no choice with a couple of them yesterday) another factor with this frustration is a lot of fans believe that if we survive this second season, that's a big step to becoming an established PL. side, and I like most thought we had a good chance of getting something at Stoke, and what makes it even a more bitter pill to swallow is the manner of the defeat, we all know we will never go through a season unbeaten, but one shot in 90mins how can you defend that, fan's can take defeat but not a capitulation.
We just won two games with our new strike partnership. We changed that for yesterday's game and we were ****. You're blaming the same midfield that we won our last two games with. I'm under no illusions that our midfield is amazing, and I'm well aware we lack a Diame in there who can drive forward, but not nearly as much as we lack a striker when we play without one.
our striker partnership is amazing but our midfield isn't and yesterday (with no strikers) that showed......
The Heart of the Problem. Is easy. It has been going on for many games. We give up easy - sloppy goals Win - lose or draw. Qpr and Stoke games are just the latest 2 games. We are at least 10 pts short from what we should have had at this moment. Sort that out and we dont have many issues.
this is true but I dont think as a team we give up, there are certain individuals that give up when we go a goal down and 2 of them players I named above.....against man city, QPR & vila we went 1-0 up first....if we go 1-0 down we are certain to lose.
That can be down to confidence or a lack of. We need to find an Ian Ashbee type player in the summer from somewhere. I dont think anyone gave up after the Crouch goal yesterday.
I felt sorry for our midfield yesterday with no strike force ahead of them, has for strengthening the midfield yes we do but that was one of the reasons SB brought in Diame unfortunately who has hardly played. Hopefully we will stay up and finally getting Snodgrass and Diame back will like getting two new signings
