Yeah the view in Starfield looks fecking abysmal compared to RDR2 which came out 5 years prior! Ridiculous.
Bethesda need to up their ****ing game

I've dabbled in base building, it's easy enough once you get into it and I've had a go at ship building which is a bit more tricky.

There are moments where it is brilliant and it takes a lot from other games so that you go from shooter game to stealth game to RPG depending on the quest but when you go outside of the main quests the content is repetitive, for example a mine on one planet is the same as a mine on any planet so you're clearing an area you've done many times before if you like just going off exploring. In Skyrim you could just wander and find really cool stuff and missions.
Graphics are a toss up between really good and a bit crap, again especially when you just go to a random planet.
There were certainly more wow moments discovering things in Skyrim wheres the maps here are again repetitive and just same cave, same science facility, same mine. I'm not really finding anything unless I'm on a main mission.
Looking at previous games I don't think they've done enough.
Some examples Cyberpunk, the characters were done really well and looked amazing. My wonderful RDR2 had incredible graphics which brought the world alive along with a great storyline and voice acting.
Skyrim had wow moments of discovery and cave systems you could get lost in for days.
Fallout was just like Skyrim but in a wasteland and not quite as good.
Even Mass Effect 2 had a story that engaged me more than this.
At the moment it's cut scene, another cut scene, leave the ship. Do mission, fast travel to ship, cut scene, another cut scene, sell gear.
It's not great.

Ive not found myself enthralled by too many storylines like i did in Skyrim tbh a few have been really good but its not sucked me in like skyrim did instantly.

Ive not put any time into base building or ship building so cant offer wn opinion on those.

And ive not completed it yet so cant give a full review but I'm enjoying playing it still although not as much as skyrim.

Playing again today but making some changes. Not using the scanner so much when surveying as it makes the screen look a ****ing mess and the graphics look terrible.

Taking my time a bit more as well.

Ive not done much surveying tbh, always forget to get the scanner out and i musta used that cutter like twice lol
 
Bought Balders Gate 3 on a whim after seeing its universal praise.

At first I thought "ah I've played something like this before, not really feeling immersed or anything."

5 hrs later

"I am Centarus, Druid of the Moon! I and my party venture forth to our latest adventure, what does our next quest involve?"

Enjoy, gotta be better than this borefest I'm playing. I'm going to play the main missions now and be done with it. Won't go paying full whack for a game again. There's a few out I will probably play once they are at a reasonable price.

Wish I'd bought the disc now so that I could trade it in and get some money back.

no wonder they want the digital only formats available more and more…..no sell on

sadly the gaming industry is just as stagnant as the film industry

did Covid rules lobotomised the people’s imagination….

Yeah, I got bored of Starfield too. Exactly why I went for Baldurs Gate. It's hella immersive should give it a go
