The 22 selfish ****s receive half of the land for a "town green"

Lansdown can build on the other half.

I hope gypsies settle on the village green.

That'll serve the greedy ****s right.

Those who shout loudest get the most attention and if you look at the overall situation throughout what used to be England you will understand my thoughts.

Most countries are run by people looking the other way and allowing the self centred minorities to rule the roost and the greenies out in the sticks south of Bristol are no different when only their interests matter - to them anyway, and to hell with the rest!

Not having seen any formal announcement except the post above, if agreement has now been reached for the land to be divided as was proposed two/three years ago, this should mean that the non town green land can be built upon.

Perhaps the opponents think that now a new pitch with undersoil heating and Desso has been installed at Ashton Gate, and the demolition of the Wedlock has, to all intents, started that City will just go ahead with that.

But what if SL now decides that he will go ahead with Ashton Vale? What has he lost? The cost of relaying the pitch for two seasons use. And a reduced capacity of 14,000 for a third tier football club and a second tier rugby club.
I would not mind betting that if they started now with Ashton Vale, it would be ready by the start of 2016-17 season. By which time City could be in the Championship and Bris in the Premiership.

    Anyone else see this happening?

Far more people than 22 submitted evidence in favour of a Village / Town green.

The Sports academy opens up interesting opportunities for Bristol City [Vence?] and the local community in unison which were not there before.

An obvious benefit for BCFC could be extending its player pathway via development facilities. An area where Cardiff and Southampton have stepped in strongly into what should be City's community.

They said all they were interested in was stopping building development across the green belt break and lied in order to get it.!

They are now happy to accept a sports academy as opposed to housing as they have been caught lying by clear evidence. there will be a change of use within years.!

Mr Lansdown is playing the long game..

Its been in the offing for sometime. The sports academy will probabaly be owned and built by Vence LP a company owned by Steve Lansdown and partners [?]. Under Mr Lansdown's Bristol Sport this academy could be utilised for several of his sporting purchases.

Sainsburys money? Did anybody really believe the no Supermarket no stadium bull? Steve Lansdown has extreme wealth and has lost more than that on City in seasons.

It would be nice to see a stadium with 30000 seats capable of putting on the football, and occasionally big game rugby etc but I think SL'S comments from Botswana indicate its cheaper with 1 umbrella! AG ...Certainly with carparking available it might make it better for local Ashton gate residents?

Right thinking people should therefore be allowed to carry out ritual sacrifices on the Town Green people then

Hopefully this will be like the sports academy in redfield but with Bristol City right at the core of it. Exactly the type of facility South Bristol needs. Massive potential for all sports from football to kick boxing.

Just as a matter of interest, will this sports academy have a football/rugby pitch in the middle surrounded by a running track and viewing facilities?!
