Was at that match and the noise when the ball went into the net and the wave of relief which swept across the crowd was unbelievable.

Possibly one of the most important goals ever scored by a NUFC player but wouldn't personally call it the greatest or even one of the greatest goals scored.

I can remember sitting towards the Leazes End side of the "New Stand" as it was then called and hugging anyone and everyone in hugging distance probably shouting "Yes, yes yes" at the same time.

Just hoping we aren't in a position at the end of the season of wanting/requiring a similar goal.

This is my greatest goal. The occasion, the atmosphere, the pressure and that finish. People talk about some of the most important players in our history and Ned is overlooked. This guy was integral for our revival and transformation into the Entertainers.

Albert's against Man Ure. Now that was orgasmic. I wasn't at the game but I can recall kissing the TV screen when he scored it.

I was at that Portsmouth game as well. Took our Mackem mate with us cos he had lost a bet on the Golf course to me. That was his forfeit. Even he was going mental in Gallowgate Corner. Thats how good it was. He has never lived that down. LOL
