Hi there pop-pickers, please answer the following straight-forward questions: What was the... First vinyl single, cassingle, CD single or single download you either bought or had bought for you upon request? First vinyl LP, cassette, CD or album download you bought or had bought for you upon request? Act furthest up the bill that you witnessed at the first gig or the first day of the first popular music festival that you attended?
Crust punk. Could you explain this genre, please? Seal - Crazy Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms The Beach Boys at Wembley Arena
Wasn't into Crust punk so much, punk-metal crossover but too much to the metal side. But really liked the first band on: Karma Sutra, Luton's finest Anarcho-folk outfit. Stevenage venue Bowes Lyon House was pretty much ran by the local huntsabs in the late 80s.
A Forest by the Cure Gustav Holst's Planet Suite. I played in concerts, with the West Sussex county youth orchestra. I remember seeing echo and the bunnymen a long time ago
A Forest new or second hand? I bought the 12” in a place that sells furniture and bric a brac from house clearances, it’s now worth over £100.
Quite impressive that the first single you bought was by an obscure (at the time) post punk/goth band.
I used to go round to friend's houses, to listen to pop music as my father loved classical music and wouldn't watch or listen to popular music. It was already in the charts when I bought it and after that I loved them. I got a Walkman and bought cassettes so dad couldn't hear it.
