it's definitely not a British thing, but here in Serbia you can see a leg of pork dangling from the terrace on a third floor flat! http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20180406-how-cured-meats-protect-us-from-food-poisoning
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-43711477 Interesting. A drug dealer was caught because he posted a picture of his hand holding a drugs stash and the police were able to get his fingerprints off the photo.
Obviously not the only evidence in this case, but just the same as if your fingerprints were found on a bag of drugs.
Don’t know if this has been posted anywhere. Sir Rickie Lambert to be presented with the 2018 Sir Tom Finney award. https://www.efl.com/news/2018/april...presented-with-the-2018-sir-tom-finney-award/
Just went to the corner shop to buy bread, came back with liver pate. Forgetfulness or something more serious?
I've been part of an English Language school here in Serbia for 15 years. I've seen kids grow up, get married, have kids and move all over the world fulfilling their dreams. There's an expression " youth is wasted on the young". Can't be further from the truth. Without the dreams and aspirations of the young the world would shrivel and die. I am always inspired by the simple truth and belief that each new generation brings and dismayed that we seem to systematically break that down. Can you even imagine a world where teenagers were grumpy old men and sloped off to their sheds to type on a football forum?
Whethersooon pubs quit social media --one of the main reasons they mentioned is that it is addictive and some users struggle with the compulsion to use it. Made me chuckle when you think of what pubs provide as their main service.
Asked whether Wetherspoon's move could start a business trend, Mr Martin said he hoped not. "Currently we've got a massive commercial advantage because everyone else is wasting hours of their time," he said.
I've gained hours since I virtually gave up on Saints in the media and on-line....no longer watching Sky Sports, rarely on here, no newspapers, but struggling to fill that time with something else....especially since the Commonwealth Games finished. My garden is going to be perfect this summer.

I read a lovely story, this morning, about the first NHS baby, born at one minute after midnight, 5th July 1948. One minute before midnight and her parents would have had to give the midwife 1s 6d (7.5p in new currency - a lot of money in 1948). This baby, a woman, went on to become a mental health nurse and with several other family members, including her daughter, have given much of their life to working in the NHS. Her daughter, a paramedic, at some time, suffered a brain haemorrhage, but was delayed in reaching the hospital, owing to a shortage of ambulances. It turned out that she had suffered four brain aneurysms, which initially prevented her from using her right arm and from speaking. When her speech returned, her doctor was testing her awareness, and asked her three questions:- What is your name? What day is it? Who is the Prime Minister? The daughter answered the first two correctly then answered the third by saying, “The arsehole who froze my pay five years ago”. Nothing wrong with her mind!
