    Best Driver: Max
Worst Driver: Seb is an obvious candidate, but I’m going to go for Kimi. Poor Quali and only 15 seconds in front of a 2 stopping Wing change team mate. Unable to pressure Bottas who was also poor.
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Ocon
Best Team: Tough one, reliability was poor for most.
Surprise Team: RB upgrade looks good
    Worst Team: Haas
Best Overtake: Lewis Alonso battle, fair and hard

Most Surprising Result: Lewis winning a WDC in 9th
Least Surprising Result: first corner collision
    Funniest moment:
    Excuse of the week:

Special Mention: Lewis for the WDC and Seb’s recovery, Ocon and Stroll

    Best Driver: Verstappen.
Worst Driver: Seb, a silly mistake to end his title ambition.
Best Rookie/New Driver: Ocon, another good drive.
Best Team: Force India, more solid points.
    Surprise Team: McLaren
Worst Team: Renaut engine building team
Best Overtake: We should have a 'best battle', Alonso v Hamilton was great for a few laps, so I'll go with that.

Most Surprising Result: The Finns finishing ahead of their team mates, or both Honda's lasting a race that should've melted them by lap 5
Least Surprising Result: first corner incident, it even had it's own thread
    Funniest moment:
Excuse of the week: Whatever Renault tell their engine customers. "we didn't think the chocolate block would melt'

Special Mention: Ericsson, looked like an F1 driver today, he was, quite literally, on fire.
Best post from the race thread:
Race Rating: 8/10 Once again there was nothing going on up front, but back down the grid there was some fun to be had, it's not always about the podiums, people in 9th have won WDC's.

Best Driver: verstappen by a distance
Worst Driver: dunno how anyone can nominate vettel due to the tow putting verstappen all over him. He only drove for second last to 4th like.. c'mon! For me Raikkonen couldn't pass the force India's so yeah.. kimi
    Best Rookie/New Driver: ghastly...as a Halloween award.
Best Team: force India? They did ok. Ferrari... well they kept vettel going through many hours of ego massaging.
    Surprise Team: none really.
    Worst Team: Haas
Best Overtake: Hamilton and Alonso for me. Proper racing

Most Surprising Result: verstappen engine didn't blow up
Least Surprising Result: Bottas and Raikkonen so far off pace
Funniest moment: nothing funny about this one imo
Excuse of the week: vettel trying to excusehimelf for driving off track when masse pushed him off track. Judt ****ing get the **** on with it.

    Special Mention: meh
Best post from the race thread: meh
Race Rating: 6/10... vettel coming through field saved it as a race. Hamilton was.pish for too long but his pass on Alonso was best sequence of race. Ricciardo going out ruined any sort of race in the top half for me.

because he ended his WDC challenge at the 2nd corner. I blame him for that far more than I do Singapore.

    Ermmm..

Did max drive over his more or no.

The toe was always an issue.

At least he drove the thing thereafter.

Bottas and Raikkonen may as well have been watching on tv

I think the mistake he made was not running Max off at T1, something that would have happened if roles were reversed. It all comes down to interpretation by a driver at a given point.

I haven’t seen detailed replays but T2 contact with Max seemed unavoidable. The T3 contact with Lewis could probably be viewed as more clumsy, but the heli cam shows a 4 wheel slide probably induced by the front wing damage and a poor traction Merc on the kerb.

Best Driver: Verstappen. The kid is on fire!
Worst Driver: Going for Vettel. Clumsy into turns 2 and 3. Was looking forward to a proper battle between him and Hamilton.
Best Rookie/New Driver: Is Ocon still classed as a new driver? He is showing maturity beyond his years and has to be a definite contender for a future Mercedes drive.
Best Team: Force India. Consistently punching above their weight.
Surprise Team: McLaren. The car actually looks decent at the moment. Maybe those claims about the strength of the chassis aren't too far fetched....
Worst Team: Renault (both team and engine division).
Best Overtake: Alonso/Hamilton. I've missed their battles, brilliant driving from the pair of them.

Most Surprising Result: Hamilton claiming the WDC in 9th.
Least Surprising Result: Hamilton claiming the WDC.
Funniest moment: Max on the radio.
    Excuse of the week:

Special Mention: Stroll. I thought he was a crash happy pay driver, but the kid is showing he can do the business.

Good point about Stroll, was awful in Q, but made the most of his free pit-stop and stayed on pace. Happened a few times, the williams being off pace in Q but having good race pace.
Another good point is Ocon, if he continues his form into next year, will he get the nod for 2019 if Bottas continues to underwhelm?

I rate Ocon , I honestly do . I will though , be amazed if Ricciardo is not in a Merc in 2019 , no matter how well Valtteri performs .

Imho he will be out , and only a Hamilton veto will stop DR replacing him .

Fine by me , he will go back to Williams and be WDC 2021 <cheers>
