Just seen the home farewell to Moyes - I wish him luck, as I wish the Toffees, who have conducted themselves in an exemplary manner - our six points being the only exception!

Football needs more of this and I believe we now have it in spades!

I asked on another thread what had changed, as there certainly seems to have been a sea change part way through this season, where sportsmanship and understanding seem to be the currency.

Definately a good feel about the game at the moment. We are all obviously on cloud 7 so can bask in the glory a bit. However the Fergie story, Moyes getting his promotion, Lampard getting his record, Brentford, todays play-off game and so many other things this season havs made it a good one and one for memories.

Really hope it lasts and continues into the future.

Will be strange next year with no Fergie and a whole new bunch of managers in the Premier League to do battle with.

Oh and a World Cup to boot next year.

    Can't wait.

The reception Fergie got was as you'd expect, but under the circumstances you'd expect some Everton fans to be a little bitter, there was no sign of it today. Very impressive.

Im quite sure there's an Everton version of the Not606 Hull City forum, where fans are as bitter as some of ours about Nige.

Difference. Nige left mid term, after saying he wasn't, to a demonstrably less able club.

Moyes has gone between seasons with the good wishes of Everton's board.

Perhaps folk are starting to realise that the sport element is being obscured by the political or financial? Whichever, sportsmanship, as a 'bar table' currency, is far more tradeable than petty argument, regardless of whom. My hope is that we manage to keep our dignity, because the Barmby fiasco really knocked us back.

    Onwards and upwards!

There was a bitter evertonian on talk sport the other day, came on and said he's glad moyes has gone, he's never been good enough, should have been sacked by now, never won a trophy, never achieved anything, spent every penny Everton have owned on **** signings, and plays the worst football in the premier league.

    I was sat there in my car doing something along the lines of <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh><laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>
