I was just wondering about this ...

Sport it seems is becoming increasingly globalised. In the 1990's NBA basketball and 'Football: made in Germany' was screened via Sat TV across the globe

In the late 1990's Sky Sports sold Premier League action to TV audiences around the globe

We also have the Grand Prix, Rugby World Cup and Tennis with new international venues such as Dubai, Singapore and Shanghai. Premier League teams have their pre-seasons in the far east etc

How globalised is sport today? Is this internet driven or TV broadcast driven? Any further thoughts? :emoticon-0109-kiss:

The word globalisation is a misnomer. It's like the recent in-breds wedding between soon-to-be-totally-bald and Kate Middleton. We were told there was a global audience of some two billion.

    Total load of ****e.

Are we to believe that a third of the world sat down to watch it on the telly? Only a third of people in the UK watched it so what chance a third of the population of Africa or Asia watched it? Absolute rubbish.

Some sports are more popular around the world than others.
