Despite playing rubbish for 2 seasons and nowhere near a trophy, United have actually increased their income and their value and poised to overtake the Spanish giants. When the club went into its steady slide the ABU predicted that United's global following will decline. I said that They will be waiting for a while because performance on the pitch had nothing to do with it. It is how much global publicity United continue to have and buying the most expensive players (doesn't really matter whether they fit in or not) is the easiest and most straightforward way (copying Madrid) to do that.

United will be in the market for every single expensive player that comes on the market. Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Pogba... Really does not matter if they are needed or would fit in.

6th is poor for a team that won the league and is meant to be a well run club, just goes to show boring football = low sponsorship deals

Winning football = biggest increase in value (58pc) along with City (59pc).

Not everyone can be the biggest in the world. Arguably more difficult to be than CL champions :bandit:

What it really shows is that in money terms the premiership dwarfs any other competition including the CL. In fact, it has now reached the point that a club staying in the premiership earns more than reaching and winning the CL final.
The UEFA administrators have already raised the alarm.

In money terms, not getting into the CL hardly affects a premiership club, especially not United. Of course, they will want to be in it because in terms of football it is the top competition.

The 20 premiership clubs are likely to be amongst the biggest 40 earners in world football.

I'm just shocked that a club with such a long and storied history like Chelsea could be behind such a vulgar new money club like City.

The game's gone mad I tell you, mad.

P.S. Wonder how much Real and Barca's value will fall by when they go on permanent strike to protest a fair TV rights deal...

Credit to City. They've had money for half the time Chelsea have and they're already a bigger club than Chelsea.

I can't see how Chelsea will ever be a big club as long as the fans behaviour off the pitch is an embarrassment to English football and the team's style of play has neutrals switching over to Songs of Praise for a bit more excitement and entertainment!

Chavbus will never have the following like UTD, Liverpool and Arsenal.
You can only buy so much, the rest needs a history.

With all that stuff in spain going on at the moment with the TV deals Madrid and Barca are about to have a ****ing lot of money taken off them each year. I think they take almost half of the Spanish TV rights between them, ouch

United's revenue shows just how little income is reliant on match going fans. The club really should reduce season ticket prices and get back the many grounded lifelong fans that were priced out 7/8 years ago. It wouldnt dent the club's income at all.

Give back to the community. Give back to your loyal supporters <ok>

Bring the ticket prices down and then some of you could attend matches. Doubt it though.

Match ticket prices aren't the problem. Do you know how much a return flight from Shanghai costs? Many dollars.

Embarrasment? That from a club's fans who's way of protest at the takeover was to wear Norwich scarves. <laugh>
