    He needs a few chances to score, so when we are in a league that requires you to score the one chance you might get, he's not the man...

    It turns out, however he is better than Rondon and probably Muto. Keeping Gayle would not have improved our points position though.

    It's not a dilemma .................. he doesn't play for us this season, so lets just forget about him and Mitro and anyone else that did play for us but who does not now.

    We should concentrate on the players we have rather than look wistfully at what could have been.

    I think we should sign Gayle up to a 5 year deal. This season we loan him out, next season he scores 20+ to get us back in to the PL, we then loan him out. Rinse and repeat.

    I think we should have retained him but lets not kid ourselves. Neither him nor Mitrovic would have done any better this season because of the way we are setting up. We are sitting so deep in most games that the forwards are meaningless. Saturday was better. We were screaming out for an option like Gayle from the bench to keep us further up the pitch as Muto and Perez's engine began to run dry.
