I must admit I really couldn't be bothered with this thread after yesterdays dire result but thought no lets keep it going and not give up like are players did yesterday so easily. Anyway this thread is for all the news and build up for Tuesdays game against Wrexham. Don't forget to vote on the poll you have until 11:18 AM on Tuesday 9th
Wrexham are 7th and beat Forest Green 1-0 yesterday so for me I can see this only going one way. The end of are unbeaten home record. The Gas 0 - 2 Wrexham
Depends on who turns up. If the away Rovers team turns up then we will lose. If the home Rovers team turns up we may get lucky. It also depends on what ref turns up. They are all crap but some favours the home side and some favours the away. I will take a draw now though.
Best thing Rovers supporters can do is boycott this game, those that are foolish enough to go should turn their bloody backs on the game after all you waste enough money watching under performers so you'd miss nowt. The Board must know that the shambles that is Rovers under present leadership has got to be halted and DC and his bunch of ??????????????????? should be outed, the joke is over. A loyal Gashead has just sent me this email which sadly tells its own story: Bloody hell Nige!! Went yesterday, and saw the worst ever performance. Last 30 mins a group of part time players absolutley bullied and trounced us. Clarke way out of his depth, clueless and the quicker gone with half the so called playing professional along with Marcus Stewart is what is needed. Make matters worse rovers fan punched a Braintree player, and at the end the abuse from around 50 gas heads was the worst ever. Only one director there, no Higgs, Jelf, Boycey etc. Won,t be watching any more. Too painful. F7ck me how did we get this low. When your back here at Xmas I would save your money. Anyway hope the weather is better there than here, and when the time comes I will still visit.
As for the result I hope if the Board dont part Company with the Manger before the game (never ever thought or wanted this before) that we get thrashed and then maybe the Coffee will finally be smelt and Higgs and Co will say yep enough really is enough. This pain and shambles must stop and the Manager his hanger on pals from Salisbury and other low level teams cant cut the mustard and now its got to stop. We are crap as a Club (supporters aside) from the Boardroom to the Players and management set up totally Clueless and a total embaressment. And I thought last season was bad, this is a mare and half. DC out please !
I'll still be there next Sat home game. A few beers, watch the game and on the lash after. It's all about the social side with me, if it was purely about the football I probably would have packed it in a long time ago.
No chance. It's a 50 mile round trip and I've got young kids who are far more deserving of my presence than those jokers on the pitch, in the dugout and in Box 1. I wanted to give them a chance to prove themselves at this level and they haven't. At the start if the season I had a chat to my uncle. He's followed the Gas for 60 years and has been a season ticket holder for over 40 years. He drives from Minehead for every single home game and invests in the share scheme. Once we dropped out of the league he jacked it all in. I tried to persuade him to join me on the terraces and give the team a chance but he declined, stating that 'nothing's changed, nor will it whilst Higgs is in charge and Clarke is in the dugout. He, of course, was right and I was wrong.

The home record's not bad and I think the lads will give a decent account of themselves. I think we'll win this 2-1...
I remember saying the early days thing every year for the last 5 ****ing years and all that ever happened was it got worse.
Well this is perhaps why The Board take no notice of the serious state of This Club. Early days how much time have we got to get out of this mess ? Keep doing the same thing and you'll get the same outcome, as proved in Rovers case through an incompetent Board making incompetent managerial appointments who then sign their own players (DC) failure and then some follows all to regularly. Welcome to the world that is Bristol Rovers FC.

Manager on tomorrow's game Darrell Clarke remains confident that his side can still challenge in the league this season, despite a disappointing performance on Saturday. The manager knows there will be set backs along the way, but he still has belief in his squad. He said: “I will get this club into the top five this season without a shadow of a doubt. It is going to be difficult, and there are going to be times when we take some hits along the way. “But I know that this squad of players, with one or two improvements throughout the season, will get us in the top five. We have just got to keep the belief.” Although the team will have to perform better than they did in the second half against Braintree on Saturday. Darrell said: “The last 30 minutes of the second half was not good enough and we crumbled. It is not acceptable to crumble like that, but one or two things did go against us on Saturday. “I don’t know what it is, but over the years, this club has struggled to come back into games. “I don’t know if it is a mental fear or not, but you have to keep going until the last ball is kicked. It felt to me that at 2-0 we chucked in the towel, and that is not acceptable. “It is two steps forward and one step back, and it has how we respond now that is key. It is up to the players to lift the crowd tomorrow. “Our home form has been pretty strong at the start of the season, and it is up to us to get the fans going, as they will be a little bit despondent and rightly so.” The manager knows what he wants to do with his side tomorrow. He said: “I will see what the reaction is, and see what the players are like on the training pitch this morning. “I have got my team in my head, and there may be one or two things that I need to freshen up, as we need to keep the ball better than we did at times on Saturday. “Jake Gosling will be back in the squad, he was on the bench for Gibraltar, but he didn’t get on. “Mark McChrsytal had a baby over the weekend, but he will be back in training today and we will take a look at him.” And Wrexham come to the Memorial Stadium tomorrow having won their opening three away games this season Darrell said: “They come on a good run of form with a good away record. “They are an experienced non-league team and ex-league team. They have good players and have made a couple of good signings. “Like every game we play, it is going to be difficult. When you lose on a Saturday you want a game straight away and it is pleasing we can try and put it right tomorrow night.”
