Bristol Rovers would like to make supporters aware that this weekend’s fixture with Portsmouth is a Category A match.

Pompy travel to the Mem for the SkyBet League Two game on Saturday 26th September (3:00pm kick off).

With the fixture being a Category A match, supporters without Season Tickets will be unable to purchase Early Bird tickets for this fixture and a full list of our Match Day prices are available here.

The club understands that the fixture is in high demand with very limited seating remaining in the South Stand.

Supporters can buy match tickets in person by visiting either of the clubs two retail outlets - Pirate Leisure at the Memorial Stadium and the Supporters Club Shop in Kingswood (199 Two Mile Hill Rd, Kingswood, Bristol, BS15 1AZ), or over the phone by calling 0117 909 6648 (option 1).

To purchase tickets online, click here or for more information about ticket prices click here.

    Blues bring in Wolves keeper

Pompey have signed goalkeeper Aaron McCarey from Wolves on a one-month emergency loan.

Paul Cook has brought in the 23-year-old after Paul Jones (knee) joined Brian Murphy (groin) on the Blues’ injury list.

Michael Poke has also had to cut short a spell on loan at Eastleigh after hurting his shoulder.

McCarey – a former Republic of Ireland under-21 international – is a graduate of Wolves’ academy who has made seven senior appearances for the midlands club.

He has previously gained first team experience with stints out on loan at Walsall and York.

Supporters are advised to arrive early ahead of tomorrows fixture with Portsmouth.

Paul Cooks men travel to the Mem on Saturday (26th September) and the club are anticipating our highest attendance of the season so are advising supporters to arrive early to avoid large queues.

With the fixture being a Category A match, supporters without Season Tickets will be unable to purchase Early Bird tickets for this fixture and a full list of our Match Day prices are available here.

This fixture is NOT an ALL TICKET match for home supporters but supporters are asked to purchase their tickets in advance which can be done by visiting either of the clubs two retail outlets - Pirate Leisure at the Memorial Stadium and the Supporters Club Shop in Kingswood (199 Two Mile Hill Rd, Kingswood, Bristol, BS15 1AZ), or to purchase tickets online, click here.

If you are coming along to The Memorial Stadium for our game against Portsmouth on Saturday, we hope you will purchase a copy of our matchday programme, The Pirate.

Having undergone a major revamp in the summer, our matchday magazine for the game will consist of 72 pages and will cost you just £3. For those of you who don’t always buy a programme because you think that you have seen all of the articles and features on our website, you might be pleasantly surprised. Much of the content is unique and exclusive to the programme and won’t have been published elsewhere.

In this issue manager Darrell Clarke and Chairman Nick Higgs both pen their own columns and we carry interviews with Ellis Harrison and Billy Bodin, while we test you to see if you remember all the players who have worn the number none shirt since the turn of the century. Hands up if you remember Chris Dickson and Paul Heffernan!

Our four page Academy section includes match reports from two U-18 games, a feature on our Academy U-10’s and a profile of first year scholar Tyler Tucker-Dixon.

We’re sure that those of you who have supported the club for a number of years will enjoy our extended history section and in this issue we bring you the third in a series of articles by David Woods on the history of Bristol newspapers. Our feature titled the Great and the Good, about players who have turned out for the club over the years features Vitalijs Astafjevs as the ‘Great’ and three good players you might not remember at all!

Alongside all of the official club news, we also bring you an eclectic mix of articles from a number of contributors, all of whom have one thing in common; they are all Gasheads!

The latest commercial news and thoughts from the Supporters Club and Young Pirates are also included and we hope that if you haven’t previously purchased a copy of our programme you will make a point of buying one on Saturday.

A number of supporters have asked about the possibility of receiving a digital copy of the programme and we are currently exploring the possibility of making this happen.

However we would like to know how many supporters would be interested in subscribing, on an annual basis, to a digital copy. There are cost implications involved in producing a digital issue, in spite of some supporters believing that there are no costs involved.

It could be as much as £99 per month, which means we would be looking for quite a large number of subscribers.

We would be interested to know how many supporters are interested in digital issues, so please contact our Programme Editor Keith Brookman on [email protected] and let him know your thoughts!

Chatting to a visitor to the Mem today and he told me that all seats home and away were sold out. certainly saw lots of empty seats at the end farthest away from Filton Ave end and according to twitter there were under 9000 present so where were all the people. thought we played better today than in most home games this season but were beaten by a team that were slightly better on the day. thought that generally the football was quite good and both keepers made some good saves

Can somebody please tell me why Lines got man of the match award, didn't see him do much of anything during the game, but Tom Lockyer worked hard and made several important tackles headers and interceptions, don't know who made the choice but it was greeted with a large groan where I was standing
