Early team news..... Tweet from James Mcnamara.... "Balanta back in "light training" but not available for Saturday. Sinclair is being assessed today, but DC didn't sound too hopeful"
Well that's a big blow for Saturdays match. Time for the monk to step up and show his experience and lead the midfield.
DARRELL - IMPROVEMENT STILL TO COME Having played through a third of the season already Rovers boss Darrell Clarke is pleased that his team havenât had to face a mid-week game but admits that this week has been a bit different. âItâs been a bit of a strange week with Lee [Brown] away with England C and Jake [Gosling] away with Gibraltar. âWeâve had a couple of injuries which some players have been carrying over the last couple of weeks but we are hoping to have one or two players back for the weekend but that will be assessed today and tomorrow. âIt is too early to tell with Stuart [Sinclair] but we will continue to assess him and Tom Parkes has recovered from his concussion that kept him out of England C duty. âAngelo [Balanta] is back in training and is doing some light jogging but he still needs a little bit longer. Lee Brown made his first appearance for the England C team on Tuesday afternoon in their 2-0 loss to Turkey in Turkey however Darrell is pleased his players are getting international recognition. âFrom what Iâve heard he did well, yes they lost 2-0 but it was to a strong Turkey team and he was up against a guy who has played for Galatasaray on a number of occasions. âIt is a privilege for the club having players representing their countries. Jake Gosling was also away on international duty for Gibraltar and Darrell says that the involvement he is getting is brilliant. âHe played in the 7-0 loss and played a part in the 3-0 loss but it is a fantastic experience for the lad. âThe kid is playing against the Republic of Ireland and theyâve got Germany soon but the experience he is gaining from it is invaluable. âHe has a great attitude and at the end of the day it is a privilege playing for your country. Up next for Rovers is the visit of Forest Green Rovers to the Memorial Stadium and Darrell stated that his team will need to crowd behind them on Saturday afternoon. âTheyâve changed it a little bit, they still play in a 4-4-2 but they have good experienced players that can hurt you. âItâs going to be a very very tough game and we are going to need the crowd right behind us like they always are. âThey have great form but it is a great opportunity to try and get three more points ahead of them. With a third of the season gone Rovers occupy fourth spot in the Vanarama Conference Premier table with Darrell thinking there is still improvement to come over the remainder of the season. âIâve said it all along there are about 10 teams that can finish in the top 5 and we obviously want to be one of those teams. âThere are a lot of ex league clubs that will be there or there abouts but we just need to concentrate on ourselves. âIf we continue the points return that weâve had in the first 16 games of the season we will be in that top 5 but we want to improve on that. âI still think there is improvement to come and there are areas of the team that still need strengthening. Darrell has been working with a small squad so far this season and is looking to make a few additions over the coming weeks. âI would like to bring in one or two players before our next away league game. âWe have a heavy run of games in November which we will need a bigger squad for. âWe have made an offer for somebody, I canât see them being in before this weekendâs game but within the next couple of weeks there will be one or two movements.

All you need to know about tomorrow's opponents Rovers will be going into tomorrow's game at the Memorial Stadium looking to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games for the first time since the 1989/90 season where the club went 14 straight league games without loss. Opposition: Promotion chasing Forest Green currently occupy 7th spot in the Vanarama Conference Premier table sitting just two points below Rovers. However, the men from Stroud may be deducted 3 points for fielding an ineligible player in their season opener with Southport. Forest Green have appealed the ruling with no final word from the Football Association yet. Dangermen - Jon Parkin & Lee Hughes : This strike partnership will cause any defence issues, boasting a total of over 800 Football League between them Parkin and Hughes will be Forest Green's main threat tomorrow. The pair currently have 12 goals this season, scoring just under half of the teams goals. Darrellâs View: âTheyâve changed it a little bit, they still play in a 4-4-2 but they have good experienced players that can hurt you. âItâs going to be a very very tough game and we are going to need the crowd right behind us like they always are. âThey have great form but it is a great opportunity to try and get three more points ahead of them. Team News: Tom Parkes has managed to shake off his concussion sustained against Aldershot. Lee Brown, Jake Gosling and Stuart Sinclair will all be assessed before kick off. Last Meeting: The two teams played just 53 days ago at the New Lawn sharing the points in a 1-1 draw watched by the BT Sport cameras. I thought it was a good contest last time around. It's time to be clinical and convert a few more chances...
