Tickets are still available from either of the clubs' two retail outlets - Pirate Leisure at the Memorial Stadium and the Supporters Club shop in Kingswood. Manager on Saturday's game. John Ward will be looking to extend his teamâs unbeaten run when Bury visit the Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The manager has taken a lot of positives from the last few games, and he hopes his team can bring them to this weekendâs performance. He said: âWe created and pushed on on Friday and were pretty strong, and we want to start pushing from the beginning now, and see if we can take games on. âHopefully we will be looking at our last game to give us a boost. An unbeaten run means the team go into a game with a belief they can win it and do well. âIf we can perform well together, that is the key for all team sports. âWe will look back at the three games and say yes we have done a lot of decent things, one or two things we want to improve upon, but sometimes when you have done well those criticisms can be taken on board a little easier. âIf we can push it forward again this weekend and extend that unbeaten run, it is a good time to do it with the five games in two weeks.â The manager will be without Seanan Clucas, who is away on international duty, but he has John-Joe OâToole and Will Packwood back in contention, after missing the cup game. He will also have a selection decision to make up front after three of his strikers scored on Friday night. He said: âSeanan is away on international duty, but we have John-Joe OâToole and Will Packwood back, who missed the cup tie. âIt is good because I have not had that situation until now, but now we have one or two options to consider. âYou could see on Friday that we can now make substitutions that can change the game. âWe have got that available to us now, so it all adds up to us hopefully having a strong squad for the period of games that are now coming thick and fast â we have five in two weeks, and I am going to need those players. It is going to be a test for everyone.â And despite Buryâs position in the league, the manager knows they will still prove to be a tough test. He said: âEvery game is a test, we have played well against teams at the top, but this league is like that â teams near the bottom can beat teams near the top. âIt is a very open league, anyone can beat anyone, you cannot take anything for granted. âThey have a very strong side of senior players, so we will give them a lot of respect. âThey have got a new manager, so they will list themselves up to play for him. âWe have gone three games undefeated, and we want that to continue, and we want to try hard to win the game.â Team News Bristol Rovers midfielder John-Joe O'Toole returns to the side after serving a one-match suspension for picking up five bookings this season. Seanan Clucas is unavailable as he is on international duty with Northern Ireland Under-21s. Bury team news to follow. VIEWS FROM THE TRAINING GROUND Bristol Rovers manager John Ward told BBC Radio Bristol: "Every game is a test. We've played well against the boys at the top, but we'll give Bury full respect. "They've got a new manager in tow and they will lift themselves to play for Ronnie [Jepson]. "We've had three games undefeated and I want that to continue."
I'm going for a 2-0 win to The Gas we got to win this match Bury are below us anything else will not be acceptable
Most recent home games against Bury: September 2002 - Rovers 2-1 Bury - A very good Rovers performance saw off Bury at the Mem thanks to two first half goals. Paul Tait gave us the lead with an excellent finish after being put through on goal, before Giuliano Grazioli doubled the advantage when he lifted it over the keeper after holding off the challenge of Colin Woodthorpe. Bury pulled one back late on when Pawel Abbott scored from close range following David Nugent's mazy run. November 2003 - Rovers 1-2 Bury - Daylight robbery. Rovers dominated the first half without scoring, coming close on numerous occasions and having a goal disallowed for offside. Lewis Haldane, unlucky in that instance, did break the deadlock early in the second half with a fantastic shot from distance. Bury equalised in fortuitous circumstances against the run of play when a corner was not cleared and simply hit Danny Swailes and rolled into the net. Rovers' misery was compounded when Joe O'Neill won it at the death with a low bicycle kick. August 2004 - Rovers 2-2 Bury - An eventful first home game in charge for Ian Atkins, as the two sides drew in entertaining fashion. Dwayne Mattis gave Bury the lead from an early corner, only for Jamie Forrester to equalise from the penalty spot shortly before half time. After the break, John Anderson headed us in front, but the game changed when Forrester saw his second spot-kick saved, as Brian Barry-Murphy made it 2-2 with an excellent strike from the edge of the box. The visitors then held on despite being a man down due to Woodthorpe's dismissal for a second booking. February 2006 - Rovers 1-0 Bury - An average performance from both teams in a game with little goalmouth incident. However, Junior Agogo's low strike in the first half, gave Rovers all three points. April 2007 - Rovers 2-0 Bury - A comfortable victory secured on Easter Monday against a rather toothless Shakers team. Bury's only real chance came after just two minutes when a corner was headed against the crossbar, and Rovers asserted their authority with Rickie Lambert scoring both goals, the first a low volley from the edge of the penalty area, and the second a mishit finish following a free-kick from the right.
this is a must win game. if we beat them we go 4 points clear of them and we catch up those ahead of us. we could only potentially move up a maximum 2 places if we win. lose this game we are stuck in a relegation dogfight for the season. win this then we could break free from it.
Should, but this is Rovers! We've got possibly the strongest available squad of the season so far and we're three games unbeaten. We were the better side against York and only drew because of a wonder goal and Steve's goalkeeping howler. I hope that John Ward sets us up to attack and that we play positively. If we do, we'll win. UTG!
