Just been released on the news SGC have approved the new stadium.

You can bet your bottom dollar they will not get the crap we have had with the forward thinking council in Bristol.

Take note BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL, let's get Ashton Vale started.

    Well done SGC .

As I read it Bristol City Council approved our ground, plus Sainsbury's redevelopment of AG. It was the protestors that stopped it happening with the independent inspectors report?

I know that it had dragged on but this is down to the nimby's

I believe the council could and should have been much stronger with this issue.

    How?

Green belt land was sold to Steve Lansdown for development, the Winterstoke road car park was also sold by the council to the project without anybody else being able to bid for it, planning permission given for a ground and huge supermarket, rate payers money spent on a world cup bid and legal fees, fees which are being paid back to constituents of BS3 who fought the council.

A development on green belt was always going to be a risk. The opposition is not from the council but residents of Ashton Vale and long Ashton.
