Right now I think it would help McGee's cause if he were to make the move to our area, he's taken the job on and I would imagine he has good terms so it needs to happen, not sure how old he is, weather he lodges through the week but a return drive to/from Brighton everyday has got to be stressful especially in the current situation we find ourselves in. It would be good PR also, and help get his critics on side.
I agree. Never sat well with me him still living in Brighton and having to travel. He has said before its a tough drive home after a defeat and a easy drive home after a win. The amount of defeats we have had, he must be very stressed. He said that even though he is in Brighton, he still working at home watching the DVD of the game which he does on Sat/Sun and always working. If thats the case, would it matter if he was in Bristol or Brighton? I think though moving to Bristol signals his intent to stay and get stuck in. But also looking at the history of how many managers been sacked on last few seasons, would you move to another place just for a 12 month period if that? Just playing devils advocate here. I think he should be in Bristol or close to. Less stress with travel, not wasting 3 hours driving home but instead have those extra 3 hours 'working' as he claims he does.
Despite what he said at the Supporters' AGM I can't see him moving here. His wife's got a business in Brighton, he's lived there awhile, he has children and one of them (I believe) has specialist educational provision. Bristol is a great place but Brighton is good too. He's probably looked after his money over the years and a manager's job is always precarious.
Horrible drive to Brighton. Nice area though. Presumably he lives over here during the week. There's an incentive to get promoted then and play "local" sides like Crawley and Portsmouth!
