With the curtain coming down on one of the best footballers ever to wear a United shirt, last night, which all too quickly followed the retirements of both Gary ( is a Red ) Neville and Mr dependable Edwin, not to mention the possibility of a last season from Ryan Giggs, it really is the end of an era. You could also throw into the mix the departures of Wes Brown and John O'shea to the chorus of " out with the old and in with the new ". Whilst "the Ginger Prince will be sorely missed, United will move on as they have done over and over again during my near 50 years of watching them. One thing that came out of last night's game was the very very young team that finished the match, with the oldest player being about 23 ! United have got bags of young talent and for many of them the removal of "Old Stock" will give them the opportunity to step up to the plate. Whilst we may still be linked to Sneider and a host of other top mid-fielders, ( which helps to promote the sale of our season tickets !!! ) I think we have a brilliant youngster by the name of Paul Pogba, who made his debut last night, watch this boy, I have for the past 3 years, he is going to be a United legend of the future !!!!!
He will be a top drawer player, no doubt whatsoever, as will Danny Welbeck. Cleverley looks good too, him and Anderson will only be impeded by the arrival of a big money CM. Diouf has come along on very well also, his overall play has greatly improved.I think we should loan him to a PL club till Christmas at least. The future looks bright for MUFC.
Diouf has thorougly impressed me. His all round game is fantastic, I'd go as far as saying he is a black Ole, a better comparison than Ole and Hernandez. He has the ability to play out wide, great finisher and looks really comfortable with the ball at his feet. Welbeck's skill is brilliant, Cleverley has been really good as well in an advanced role but Macheda has really upped his game. I think it would be ridiculously harsh to send any of the aforementioned players out on loan again because I think they could perform in the first team straight away. Also, loved seeing Pogba against Viera last night. I know they are at different ends of the footballing careers but it just illustrated how good this guy is and just how immense he can be. If you think that the likes of Pogba, Tunniclife, Morrison, Keane and Cole are just behind the likes of Welbeck, Cleverley, Macheda, Diouf and Ando, our future looks very bright. And at one point last night, our oldest outfield player was 23 years old. And if you swapped Lindegaard for De Gea and one forward for Rooney, we would still have an average age of around 21 that could compete in the league already.
The new generation of Babes are almost ready, the understanding, passing and movement between the young players was great to watch(I know it was against poor opponents but still, good Football is good Football). This is what our great club was built on and I ****ing love it, we should strive never to lose our attraction to young stars.
We have a fantastic young 11 De gea Rafael Jones Smalling Fabio Cleverly Pogba Anderson Nani Welbeck Hernandez That's leaving out the likes of diouf, macheda, Morrison, Norwood, Brady (who is looking good for hull on loan) etc. The future looks bright.
i was thinking further along the line. In 3-4 years time we can still put rooney and valencia in. Worldbeaters. I even forgot to put in evans
But do not forget-------------- " You don't win anything with kids " , now remind me, who said that again ?????
We have some great young players!!! So why are people still banging on about Sneidjer? Makes no sense really, surly these young players need a chance. Especially Anderson and Cleverly.
How refreshing to hear Sir Alex mention the talent that is Paul Pogba. In the Guardian today he is reported to have said that this lad will be given his chance in the first team, otherwise he might leave us in a couple of years time out of frustration. He seems to speak highly of him which looks promising for his future prospects at the club. The cynics will say that his comments have come after it looks like we will not be signing the likes of Sniejder but can anyone please show me any scrap of evidence where Sir Alex has mentioned that he would like to have Sniejder in his side ? The media have linked us with many midfielders including Modric and Nasri but Sir Alex knows what he has got and what he wants, so lets leave it to him after all don't forget he is BRILL19NT !!!
