I have read a number of threads this evening, suggesting that it is time for SB to go. Cast your vote guys and girls...... 1. Keep Him 2. Don't Know 3. Sack him
Got to agree. I think we all have to put things in perspective. Bruce had half a season where we were playing some brilliant football and got some very impressive results along the way. Yes we have been shocking lately. I mean REALLY bad but the league is still very tight and a top 10 finish is definitely not out of the question yet. Also I think there's only so much the manager can do. At the end of the day it's 11 men responsible for putting in a shift and they simply haven't done that. One win. All we need is one win. A spark to push us into the 40 point bracket. We WILL win ONE game out of our remaining fixtures!! No it isn't looking great at the minute but we will not go down. KEEP BRUCE. KEEP THE FAITH
Also I think there's only so much the manager can do. At the end of the day it's 11 men responsible for putting in a shift and they simply haven't done that. Rubbish. It's the managers job to ensure they do put a shift as it is your manager at work The buck stops with Bruce. If he has reached his limit so be it,
Dont agree Myrtle, I was there yesterday and the second half left me lost. Not the players not putting a shift in, they just looked lost. Direction not there.
Another knee-jerk reaction and fickle fans ... Myrtle. You obviously don't know the meaning of "knee jerk" Years of this sort of diapointment and failure. An atrocious run of results culminating in losing a game at home that we should have won easilly has had people like me pondering over our situation over the past couple of weeks. It isn't Knee jerk when it is so balatantly obvious the manger simply isn't getting it right
1. keep him. got the players, but just need to find the right combination, **** knows what it is, but bruce has got limited time to find it. he tried it yesterday, didn't work, he picked a team near to the one we were all calling for. proves what we know eh lads.........
I'm one who can't make my mind up so voted 'don't know'. SB has had some fantastic results this season against some of the top teams in the EPL. We were sitting pretty in 6th place back in January, talking about the possibility of gaining a place in Europe. So what happened? 1. DB was sold without another striker being brought in, which I am sure was a gamble that the owner, chairman and SB thought was worth taking. Unfortunately, it didn't work and we were stuck with one fit striker for weeks. 2. A long list of injuries has prevented SB from putting out a team that can compete against the better clubs (excluding Stoke and WBA!) that we've had to face in the last few matches. We all know the importance of having a settled back four and keeper, but Bruce has not been able to achieve this for months, due to injuries, suspensions, inelegible to play etc. 3. Muntari & Sess: Two players brought in to the club mid season, expected to hit the ground running and perform miracles by the majority of us fans. Yes, Muntari has played in this country before, but months of warming the bench at Inter has not helped his cause in establishing himself as a first team regular. Sess has never played in the EPL and we all know that many a player has failed to make the grade in their first season of premier league football. 4. Too many of our players are suffering with an alarming loss of form. Most clubs will have 1 or 2 players that hit the wall during the season, but I can think of at least 4 of our regulars that are out of sorts at the moment, which makes life very difficult for Bruce when picking the team. I agree with the many of you who are stating that SB is tactically inept, but he hasn't always got it wrong. Think back to the Chelsea away game, the home match against Man City, the home and away games against Arsenal, need I go on? As I type this, I am finding myself agreeing with Mr-SAFC and NQDP that we should at least keep him until the end of the season. Is it worth changing managers with 6 games of the season left? I don't think so.
I think that the fact you are forgetting we had 35 points at Jan 1st and only 38 by April 10th. This isn't a blip its a catastrophe of biblical proportions. MGM could make a 4 hour film about SAFC's plight currently. You suggest we can win one game cant we? I would ask can we? Fulham and Wigan at home will be very difficult IMO, W Ham, B'ham and Bolton are no shows and that leaves Wolves at home. Bruce is dead in the water mate and as a committed Bruce supporter that has been a hard thing to say. Wake up and smell the coffee time yet again and this time we can ill afford to hang about when there are alternatives out there. If this were a factory or retail business and the same set of results were offered as a defence, SB would be spending time with his family already.
Don't know for me, just so baffled as to the collapse of form. Reading both sides of the discussions on this board and agree with most points of view but still unsure as to the right way of correcting it. **** SB off or keep him? either way the players need to pull their thumbs out of their arses and put in a shift and do what they are paid to do.
We are one point off ninth position.Bruce deserves til end of season to reach our goal of a top ten position.
This poll doesnt reflect the Sunderland feelings As all the mags are voting to keep him, as i read it only Myryle is in favour of that
I'm not sure. It's difficult to take into account the pros and cons of a managerial change. On the one hand, excluding this ****e run, this is the best season we've had for a decade. On the other hand. even with millions pumped into the team, we are having another barren spell, just like last year's. I am sitting firmly on the fence; one bollock either side.
