Thank you MAF - a net outlay of around £15m is nothing short of fantastic. And my hat off to MJ. Yup, I questioned his transfer acumen but am now happy to admit he has done really good business. All the bases seem to be covered, especially the vulnerable LB, RB and CF positions. Instead of one team of 11 we now have two. Guess that's why he's a premiership manager and I'm a mere blogger. Isn't it terrific that we have options and can squabble about who plays where. Will Dempsey, Dembele and Ruiz play behind Bobby or any combination up front with him? What about Duff - looking good so far and just signed a new deal? Will Murphy be phased out? Will Riise get his place back? And as for AJ ..? What fun. And just perfect that a home game is next up.
Yup, things certainly look bright for us, and all of a sudden we have an embarrassment of riches up front.
Playing zamora up front with Ruiz, Dembele and Dempsey behind sounds very appealing to me, I imagine they can interchange positions and start playing the way jol likes to. Just wonder though if having a front 4 like this would mean that sidwell would struggle to get in, as in a 4-2-3-1 formation i imagine that murphy and etuhu would be favored as the holding midfielders, although I'd rather if this wasn't the case.
