I must admit i represent one of the 'quite concerned' camp of fans for Rangers this season. I trust implicitly in Warnock to rally the troops but feel unrest behind the scenes. I am sure he has toiled day in day out trying to second guess what may possibly happen next at board level that could significantly affect his dealings in the transfer market.

I remember seeing somewhere that Neil said he missed out on Danny Graham because he perceived that he did not have the resources to compete when in fact he did. For me that suggested that he expected the Mittals bid to be successful.

Here we stand now with no sign of a take over and a much reduced budget. We could speculate all day on who we may bring in but i wanted to concentrate on the players we have for a minute. We have a couple of players that really didnt feature with Warnock last year but i expect some of these to feature a bit more this coming season.

Buzsaky - We all said pre Tarbs, that this man, our No. 10 will cut it in the prem. I still think he can, maybe he does not go past players like Tarbs but he has a hunger to prove to most that he can play at this level, something that Tarbs assumes he already can.

Rowlands - I am sure he will play a part next season. He will have a lot more time in the prem and will be able to nurse those ageing injuries more. We will rely on such committed players in a dogfight at the end of the season when most are losing their heads.

Hulse - Like it or not, he will feature, and i think he will do ok.

Cook - Not sure what to say........ He was once great, can still cross a ball

I suppose what i am trying to summise is that our depth i believe (maybe bias) is of greater quality than that of Blackpool, but right now our first 11 aint. We are behind Swansea and Norwich, i believe we will lose Tarbs in January, but add, Upson, Naughton, Ambrose, Bullard, Boothroyd and Keane and i think we are in with a chance.................

Alas I fear that Rowly & Cooky will never again pull on a hooped shirt.

Hulse in my opinion just isn't up to it.

Buz can be a great player subject to his fitness & mind being right.

    Welcome to the bored Fav.

A well written and reasoned piece imo. Look forward to more of same.

Good topic choice too. Don't think we've looked hard enough at our fringes... and God knows we might as well given the scarsity of our resources.

Having said that, have to agree with everything HE said in response.

I very much doubt that Rowlands will ever be selected by Neil, although I don't really understand his reasoning on this one.

Don't worry, they're on too much money for us.

Hey, if we had the choice of Matt C, Gorkss, Onesize or Upson in central defense, I'd take Kaspar and Upson quite happily

Ta Brixton, I do agree just think as u say it feels at some point we may be forced to turn to them.

On another level, cookie and rowlie must be on nearly 20k a week each? The ridiculous contract like agymang are finally coming home to hinder us like we all knew they would.

Who else thinks that Matt Connolly really started to show that he might be able to play well in the PL towards the end of this season? I feel like he really pulled it together and pulled out some great performances, like he did earlier in the season.

I don't I'm afraid. The kid's a tryer and has bags of potential but he's thinking about his responsibilities too much. Nerves make bad decisions on positioning and the right time to put the tackle in.

That can only get worse against the celeb forwards coming at him in the prem.

Really needs to switch over to reflex mode and let his training kick-in imo.

I thought that he started to look better against Derby. He did come out of defence majestically with the ball a couple of times. While I still don't see him as a Prmier League defender, there are two words that give me hope. Ian Evatt.

I too am not sure we will see Rowly or Cook again. I agree that Buz could well do ok in the prem........but Hulse!!? He wouldn't get in my son's U13s!!!
