The Premiere of The Four Year Plan - a fly-on-the-wall documentary following the highs and lows of Queens Park Rangers Football Club over four seasons - took place in London tonight (Tuesday). Over 300 guests, including QPR Vice-Chairman Amit Bhatia, as well as Mark Hughes and the entire Rangers First Team squad were present, as the documentary - which will also be aired on BBC2 on Sunday evening (11.15pm) - made its domestic debut on the small screen at the Curzon Cinema. "I think it's a good movie," Bhatia told www.qpr.co.uk. "It's an accurate representation of what went on over the four years that ultimately led to our promotion. The good times, the bad times, the ups and the downs. "The film shows the challenging situations that are posed for a Football Club. "It was an extraordinarily difficult watch at times, but we got where we wanted to get and I'm sure all the supporters will enjoy watching it." The Four Year Plan follows the incredible highs and lows of the Club after being rescued from bankruptcy in 2007 by billionaire backers Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone, Lakshmi Mittal and Amit Bhatia. The camera records meetings, telephone conversations, matches and private chats that reveals the turbulent and dramatic developments in four seasons at Loftus Road. The Four Year Plan culminates in an extraordinary, nail-biting finale and goes where no film about football has gone before. *We'll bring you more action and reaction from the Premiere in the coming days, as well as in Saturday's 'Hoops' matchday programme.
Got the DVD thanks to QPR999. Looking forward to seeing it when I can get possession of the TV. Might lift the mood of doom and gloom, bring back that feeling of pride.
Watched it a few times now and I agree what Barton just said on twitter In effect we were outstanding last year I hope other fans will watch it and understand exactly how hard it was for us fans and why some of them on here have become infected and lost their testicles
You've got to admit DT that even by our own standards last season was completely bonkers Possibly matched by this season if we stay up Thats why I love my club, we are such a glorious shambles
Barton's Tweets after seeing TFYP tonight... I am in agreement that Warnock had to go when he did. Nothings changed there. But credit were (sic) credits due on getting ou of the champ. The way QPR got out of that league defies logic. It is a must see film for anyone wanting to know what goes on sometimes at clubs#4yrplan Cannot believe Briatore allowed that film. He was hilarious with his antics but don't think for one minute he was trying to be...surreal After watching that, think Amit Bhatia and Neil Warnock should have statues erected outside Loftus Road. #eyeopening
Amazing innit? On here most days and never knew about this showing. Take it we got a full house tonight... Stuck it on the planner for Sunday night. Chances of a power cut?!!
If Barton can show this level of respectful humility for the rest of the season then he might just appreciate who and what he's fighting for enough to turn him into the captain that we need and he should be.
Good all the players and MH saw that. It should give the new players some better understanding of where we have come from, and hopefully a bit more passion to keep us where we are now.
In the pictures on the offish, I am sure it shows Warnock present at the premiere. To avoid any embarrassment, it would have been easy not to invite him and, for the same reason, easy for him to decline an invitation. I am delighted that he was there and he deserves the accolades for getting us out of the Championship against the backdrop of that madness. Can't wait 'til Sunday night to see it for myself.
Yeh, I noticed that - good to see him there. My brother will be recording that for me Sunday night (I hope), and look forward to seeing it when I'm over the week after.
